While the devil is a hungry devourer “prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour” (I Peter 5:8), something far more profound is taking place. People who are living in prisons of deception and despair and who are easy prey for the devil have been prayed upon receiving prayers of intervention, words of hope, and declarations of freedom.
Those prayers have the authority and power to drive away the devourer when it seems in the natural that the victims are forever lost and resemble a lamb tethered to a stake with no way of escape. No spiritual predatory spirit can withstand the effect of a single prayer uttered from a person aligned with the heart of God. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
Jan and I have felt with increasing assurance that prodigals will be returning home miraculously transformed. Prophetic words of hope offered in the distant past will enter this moment in time to be fulfilled. The Church will experience a breathtaking revival that will impact the future direction of our nation, all because of the accumulated prayers of the saints that destroyed the devouring plans of hell.
This is a new day. It is new because it is a day of fulfillment. Our prayers are being poured out under the direction and specific timing of God. This is a time of intervention, a precise moment in history as the prowling lion of hell prepares to sink his teeth into what appears to be helpless prey. He will bite, but no prey will be present to fall victim to his fatal attack.
