THE BLACKSMITH CHRONICLES
PODCAST
HOST: RYAN JOHNSON
Cody and Erika Archie are first-generation ranchers in Central Texas. Their family raise beef cattle and dorper sheep on Bar 7 Ranch in Gatesville, Texas. They have two children, Kylee (17) and Clancy (13), who are very active in sports, 4-H, and their home church. As an owner/operator of Valet Cleaners and Laundry, they also do a little duplex renting, and dabble in home building beyond their ranch duties. Cody manages all of the above, and Erika works as a Public Affairs Specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Rural Development.
The Archie’s are very active in their local church, Hay Valley Baptist Church, where Cody serves as a deacon and Sunday School teacher and Erika as Church Secretary and Children’s Director. They love spending time with the next generation of agriculturalists in their community, serving as adult leaders, project managers, and club managers through our county 4-H program. And if that wasn’t enough of a list, they also serve on the Coryell County Farm Bureau (CCFB) board of directors, with Cody serving as the current President of the board.
