Peace in Our Spirit

With more intentional focus on Him, peace settled within.

Romans 15: 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

English Standard Version

With difficult circumstances approaching, I began a search in Christ to gain wisdom. I longed to deal with what was coming with grace, patience, and a calm mind and heart. Anxiety fought to steal my rest at night, and depression loomed over life, a dark cloud of defeat. My prayer life was unintentionally on hiatus.

Reflection brought me to a point of change. We have to pick up our Bible daily. Talk to God. For me, we began chatting day and night. My prayers were both spoken and written. With more intentional focus on Him, peace settled within. God has a way of providing even when we fail to ask.

A peaceful spirit changes things. It limits your reactions and creates a space for wisdom to lead. Peace settles within, and as we embrace this gift, joy enters and plants itself in our inner being. It is the assurance that all is well between us and God.

He created this perfect relationship. If we move out of our way, we will receive Him in ways that baffle our understanding. However, we recognize God’s work in us.

Do you experience barriers that prevent you from living in genuine peace through the Holy Spirit?
