Our Words

I will aspire to wow them with my Jesus.

Posted on

The mistake we often make is believing Jesus is more concerned with words than with souls.

He’s not.

The people Jesus spent the most time with were uneducated, unclean, outcasts, with physical and mental health issues.

I’m guessing He didn’t try to WOW them with his BIG WORDS, and yet HE is God. His vocabulary and ability to win any argument far exceed mine.

He gave me a loving reminder this morning….

Jesus isn’t impressed if I win 1000 debates on Facebook.

Jesus isnt impressed with how many times I can use the words propitiation, justification, regeneration, or sanctification in a sentence.

He isn’t wowed by my theology, eschatology, hermeneutics, or any of the other fancy words we use trying to impress each other.

He isn’t impressed by how much scripture I can quote if my heart isn’t aligned with His.

When we look to scripture, Jesus was amazed by one thing.

Just one.

Faith.

My goal isn’t to outwit a fallen world.

It’s to point them to Christ.

I want to WOW Jesus.

I want to WOW Him by how well I’ve loved.

I want to WOW Him by how I’ve loved the lost – including those whose lives, beliefs, and actions oppose Christ.

Love.

Let my LOVE wow Him.

Let HIS LOVE win them.

Love covers a multitude of sin.

My goal today isn’t to win a theological debate.

My goal isn’t to argue anyone into my beliefs.

My goal is to show a lost world the hope that is within me.

People are broken.

People are hurting.

People are demonized.

People are dying.

People have no hope.

People are filled with shame, guilt, and regret.

People believe God hates them.

People have encountered the world’s religious system.

Not Jesus Christ.

Not the Savior of the world.

He asked that we reach them with HIS LOVE.

That’s what He said.

That’s the great commission.

That’s my job.

People are not the enemy.

No matter how dark this world is.

Know your enemy.

Know his game.

Know what he wants you to show the world.

Know the flesh he wants you to walk in.

Not today.

Remain in The Spirit.

If you’re truly walking in Spirit, it can’t be separated from The Truth.

Stay seated in peace with Jesus.

Yes, you can war from a place of peace.

Today, I won’t try to wow them with my words.

I will aspire to wow them with my Jesus.

Faith.

Hope.

Love.

The greatest of these is love.
