My Cup Overflows

We are called Beloved, and Jesus, the King of Glory, has invited us to His table.

In biblical times, to be seated at the right hand of the king was the place of highest honor. It was reserved for the guest of distinction.

The one whom the king wished to bless.

The king would personally fill that guest’s cup, and not just partially… he would fill it to overflowing as a symbol of favor, abundance, and belonging.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

Psalm 23:5

Now think of John the Beloved at the Last Supper, leaning into Jesus, his head upon the Lord’s chest, listening to the very heartbeat of the Savior.

John didn’t just sit at the table…he rested in love.

He was seated in the place of intimate honor.

And what title did John take for himself?

“The disciple whom Jesus loved.”

Friend, that is our seat too.

That same invitation is extended to you and me.

We are called Beloved, and Jesus, the King of Glory, has invited us to His table.

He tells us:

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Matthew 5:6

And again:

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”

Psalm 34:8

When we hunger and thirst, we shall taste and see!

Let that sink in.

You’ve been invited to feast with the King.

Your cup isn’t just full…it’s overflowing.

You are loved, cherished, and seated with Christ Jesus – NOW!

“and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 2:6
