“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4
Mondays are a good time to reflect well and start well. No matter what the previous week looked like to you, there are always things to be thankful for. I like to begin Mondays by sealing the previous week with praise and gratitude for all that God did for me during that week…for provision, breath, life, family, home, and the specific things that revealed his care and mercies to me. I can even thank him for what I didn’t see, knowing that he protected me from dangers unseen.
Then, I begin my new week with thanksgiving for all that he will do. I know that he goes before me to clear the way, he is constantly with me to guide and protect my life and family, he knows what I need even before I ask or am even made aware of an upcoming need or situation. He has prepared a table of provision and blessings for me that I have been invited to partake of. So today, I begin by sitting at his table and thanking him for the bounty that I will partake of this week.
“You, LORD, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands.” Psalm 16:5
We can enter each new week with songs and declarations of praise and thanksgiving. For his faithfulness is with us day by day— never failing, never-ending, and forever ours. We can enter this day declaring the words from the famous hymn that says,
“Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see— all I have needed thy hand hath provided— Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me.”
His faithfulness is with you and goes before you. His mercies are new for you today, and all that you need is provided for you BY HIS HAND.
Do not let your heart be troubled or in dread of the week ahead— do not let yourself enter into this week with fear or anxiety— but rather enter in with thanksgiving and joyful expectation of seeing his faithfulness, mercies, and provision for all that you will need.
This is the day that the Lord has made, and it is your day to rejoice and be glad in Him!
