Life Transitions are a Time For Transformation

If you feel God calling you to a new career, there’s no reason to stay in a stressful job that makes you feel further from Him.

Death, divorce, and job loss are all major life transitions that can happen at any point. Facing these challenges and the new realities that follow can be daunting, but these moments can also be an opportunity for you to enact positive changes in your life. Today, I want to share insights on a few positive and healthy habits that can replace the negatives and lead you into a new life.

Change careers

If you feel God calling you to a new career, there’s no reason to stay in a stressful job that makes you feel further from him. You have a few options here, including starting an LLC. As an LLC owner, you’ll be protected from possible financial pitfalls related to your business, and you’ll have a few tax advantages as well. Save some money by forming yourself using a formation service after reading local rules and regulations. Once you get your business up and running, make sure that you have a business card, which many people still consider more personal than sending an email. You can use a free online template for this that allows you to change out your photo and colors and even share a simple scripture.

Go back to school

It doesn’t matter how old you are; if you’re not quite ready to make the leap into entrepreneurship and you’re unsure of your skills, consider going back to school. Even if you’ve seen 50 come and go, the AARP says there are benefits to earning a degree now. However, make sure to pick your major wisely. If you’re not sure what, consider a business degree, which you can use to gain the knowledge you need in management, leadership, and marketing to launch your own business. Changing careers, even late in life, is a great way to improve your mental health.

Pray and reflect

Now is also a great time to reflect on your life thus far and to pray for better days ahead. Reflecting on your goals and aspirations can help you make positive changes in your life. Prayer, self-reflection, and meditation can also reduce stress and help you get through the down times in your life. If you’re recovering from a divorce, for example, Connect Us offers several options for prayers you can use to help keep your mind calm as you heal.

Eliminate toxic relationships

Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character’” (1 Corinthians 15:33). Toxic influences, or bad company, may not completely corrupt good moral character, but these types of people can bring us down. Remember, it’s okay to walk away from toxic relationships. This might be a lover, friend, or even family member. It’s better to walk with the wise and become wise than be a companion for fools.

Consider moving

Moving is another major life transition that you can choose, even if you’ve recently faced a setback. You can move for a change of scenery, to be closer to friends or family, or even so that you can have access to like-minded people and more opportunities within the church. Something else to consider is that moving to a new location can even help you grow as a person. The My Moving Reviews blog explains that this is because it takes courage to move ahead, as you know that you’ll face challenges along the way.

We can’t prevent many major life transitions. All we can do is pray and look ahead at the future. A few things you can do today to inject positivity during times of transformation include returning to school, starting your own business, praying, and walking away from toxic influences. These activities can put you on a path toward self-acceptance and accepting disappointments that God may have given us as a gift to protect us from the evil of the world.
