A week ago my husband clearly heard these words from the Lord, “This is not a game.” As he shared it with me I could feel the weight of the Lord’s seriousness in it. But what is not a game?
After he shared this with me I had the Lord direct me to Deuteronomy 30 to begin praying it over families and over nations. This chapter is a passionate invitation (although invitation is not a strong enough word— more like an exhortation or a desperate plea) for a people to RETURN TO GOD. After the exhortation to return fully to him, he adds the blessings and benefits that will come upon his people whose hearts are given back to him,
“God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.
4 No matter how far away you ended up, God, your God, will get you out of there
5 and bring you back to the land your ancestors once possessed. It will be yours again. He will give you a good life and make you more numerous than your ancestors.
6 God, your God, will cut away the thick calluses on your heart and your children’s hearts, freeing you to love God, your God, with your whole heart and soul and live, really live.
7 God, your God, will put all these curses on your enemies who hated you and were out to get you.
8 And you will make a new start, listening obediently to God, keeping all his commandments that I’m commanding you today.
9 God, your God, will outdo himself in making things go well for you: you’ll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life. Yes, God will start enjoying you again, making things go well for you just as he enjoyed doing it for your ancestors.
10 But only if you listen obediently to God, your God, and keep the commandments and regulations written in this Book of Revelation. Nothing halfhearted here; you must return to God, your God, totally, heart and soul, holding nothing back.
11 This commandment that I’m commanding you today isn’t too much for you, it’s not out of your reach.
12 It’s not on a high mountain – you don’t have to get mountaineers to climb the peak and bring it down to your level and explain it before you can live it.
13 And it’s not across the ocean – you don’t have to send sailors out to get it, bring it back, and then explain it before you can live it.
14 No. The word is right here and now – as near as the tongue in your mouth, as near as the heart in your chest. Just do it!
15 Look at what I’ve done for you today: I’ve placed in front of you Life and Good, Death and Evil— choose life!
16 And I command you today: Love God, your God. Walk in his ways. Keep his commandments, regulations, and rules so that you will live, really live, live exuberantly, blessed by God, your God, in the land you are about to enter and possess.
The above scriptures are from The Message translation, which I almost never read, but the Lord was very clear to meditate and pray from this translation.
He is sending us a MESSAGE!
He is inviting not only you and your family into this message but many nations into it! He is offering life and blessings in exchange for death and curses but it is his people who will choose and apprehend these covenant promises for their lives, their families, and their nations.
I was both surprised and pleased to read a word by Veronica West this morning called, “This Is Not A Drill” because it goes with what my husband heard, “This is not a game.” As I read it, I was surprised to see that she used some of the verbiage from Deuteronomy 30 about “choosing life” as she spoke of nations.
Over a year ago the Lord gave me a word in which He said, “Watch me as I am about to de-seat the deceivers.”
I knew immediately that he was speaking of governmental leaders as well as church leaders. I knew that leaders, nations, governments, and peoples were being weighed on God’s scales of justice. But the weighing has occurred and justice is being rendered in favor of the saints of God (Daniel 7:21-22).
We are in a Daniel 5 moment of time when God is bringing tyrannical governments and reigns to an end. Many have been weighed and been found wanting— and their reign will now come to an end.
“This is the message that was written: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin. This is what these words mean: Mene means ‘numbered’—God has numbered the days of your reign and has brought it to an end. Tekel means ‘weighed’—you have been weighed on the balances and have not measured up. Parsin means ‘divided’—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.” Daniel 5:25-28
They have not measured up to the Lord’s standard of love, justice, or service. And now their political parties have become divided and their constituents have turned on them. A modern-day Daniel 5 is occurring before our eyes.
We saw this with the US elections and now we see it in Canada with the resignation of their prime minister and within the liberal party.
Though my family is from the US, we lived in Canada prior to the election of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. During our years in Canada, we led a house of prayer that prayed earnestly for the nation and we were watching it thrive spiritually and economically. But the past decade has been spiritually, socially, and economically deeply oppressing.
God is now bringing the end to the reign of death and curses— and it is up to the body of Christ to decree in agreement for life, blessings, and the fear of the Lord to return to Canada. Although not just Canada— but also to the US as we prepare to swear in our 47th president.
Many nations are hanging in the balance right now— South Korea is one that we need to pray for as well. Let us add the weight of our prayers to see God move on their behalf.
Veronica West also mentioned the African nations in her word. This has been on my heart— it is time for a historic turning throughout the nations in Africa. The tribal wars, the horrific slaughters of innocent people, the poverty, the witchcraft, and the political corruption must stop! The African people carry an anointing of praise and the enemy is desperately afraid of their sound and movement of the joy that he has anointed them to release.
He has sought to keep deception as a silencer of their song and division as chains upon their ankles to stop their dance.
BUT— we can pray for them and agree (and decree) with the Lord for their freedom and liberation from bondage. We can decree life and blessings and break the curse of death as they experience revival and national reformation (see Dutch Sheets’ recent word regarding revival and reformation).
I believe that the first act of 2025 for the Church in the United States is to pray for the nations.
We have been called as a nation unto nations and there is a spiritual weight of authority that comes with that call to shift and see change come to nations. Just as Canada is a nation that spiritually mid-wives the birthing in other nations— the US is called to protect, defend, and establish justice and peace throughout the nations.
Israel, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, and many other nations are also in both spiritual and natural wars— and in each of these nations, there is a remnant that belongs to God that is crying out for his kingdom to be established in their nation. They are crying out day and night for his reign, his peace, and his justice to come. They need a Daniel 7:21-22 moment,
As I watched, this horn was waging war against God’s holy people and was defeating them, until the Ancient One—the Most High—came and judged in favor of his holy people. Then the time arrived for the holy people to take over the kingdom.” Daniel 7:21-22
The scripture that the Lord gave to me for 2025 is Psalm 47 and here is a portion of it,
For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth. He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet.” Psalms 47:2-3
It is time for enemies to be put beneath our feet! It is time to trample the snakes and scorpions down so that they are not ruling over nations and mocking our God. God will subdue nations before us in 2025 and many enemies will be put beneath our feet— they will no longer reign OVER God’s people and purposes.
It was pointed out to me that in the United States, we are about to swear in our 47th president and that Psalm 47 is a promise that goes along with that. I had not connected the two 47s before it was pointed out to me. Thank you, Jesus!
Lastly, prophetic voices like Veronica West, Lana Vawser, and Dutch Sheets are talking about restructuring, rearrangement, revival, and reformation. That’s a lot of “re’s” or better said, “New beginnings!”
We have two 47s that are being highlighted— Psalm 47 and the inauguration of the 47th president of the United States. 47 + 47=94 and Psalm 94 begins like this,
The Lord is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth. Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.” Psalms 94:1-2
This is not a game!
It is not a time to play games or disengage because nations and peoples are being held in the balance. Our prayers and declarations can tip the scales in favor of the saints. Or better said, our prayers and declarations can help to bring peace and protection amid the reordering of governments and nations as God tips the scales.
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20
This is not only not a game but it’s surely not a practice game! This is NOW and God is calling his ekklesia to join with him to see the establishment of his justice and truth within nations.
Kathi’s new book SEVEN LETTERS, has just been released. Within the pages of this book is the counsel of the Lord for His Church— yesterday, today, and forever.
