Hubs of Home, Family and Community

We mostly think of pioneering to be going somewhere else or somewhere new— but you will be called to pioneer right where you are.

As I write this, I am preparing to be gone from my home for almost twenty days. It will be beautiful but whenever I am about to leave home (especially for longer periods of time) I become very aware of my gratitude for home, family, and true community.

I have been honored to truly find those three things in many places— throughout the nation and even throughout the world. God’s family always has special people that have nurtured that for those who are passing through. But there is nothing like the warmth and comfort of home and the embrace of those who know you intimately.

There is something so profound and deeply spiritual about being known and knowing others intimately.

It creates a safe place for vulnerability, rest, and comfort. I am surrounded by family— not just blood family but a family of believers that truly know me and love me for me— not just for a gift that I bring.

I sense that there is a longing in the heart of God for places or hubs of home, family and community to be set up all over the world. These will be places where the hurting can find arms that embrace them. They will be places where the lonely can find family and where the orphan can find home. I believe that a pioneering of home, family, and community is about to come into the foreground. God will raise up people who are called to create local hubs or homesteads that carry all three of those vital needs in the life of every person.

How I wish that every person could truly say that they have a home that is a refuge and comfort to them. And how I wish that every person had a family that provides love, joy, and safety for them. And how I wish that every person had a community where they are truly known, honored, and received in their beauty and in their struggles. I’m so sad that this is not everyone’s reality or experience.

I believe that God is raising up places of refuge and people who know how to nurture others with an anointing that breaks strongholds of isolation, loneliness, anxiety and depression.

These hubs or places of refuge will provide local support but will also become destinations for those who come for short periods of time to be refreshed, strengthened, and loved. And to find rest.

Some of you have not valued or recognized the gift of creating home and family that is upon your life. You may not have understood the value of the gift upon you in being a father or a mother to those around you.

God is searching for those that He has created “for such a time as this” that will build home hubs or homesteads where people are healed and brought into family.

These will be places where you can come in with your mess and experience being put back together. I believe that God will raise up people who have wealth to give land, buildings, homes, and financial support to these anointed ones who have been prepared for this time. Those who are looking for a place to sow will know that they are sowing into an eternal family.

We mostly think of pioneering to be going somewhere else or somewhere new— but you will be called to pioneer right where you are. It’s not for everyone but we will find in the days to come that these cities or hubs that have pioneered home, family, and community will be vitally important for God’s people’s health, wholeness, and for the incoming harvest.

Begin to pray and say yes to this if God is stirring you to this call. Let’s watch Him do something that will bring a vital and important part of His move in the days ahead.
