What we see and feel – that chair, this tree, that coffee – seems to be reality.
Yet, it’s the inner world that shapes the outer world. The seed which fell to the ground, died, and resurrected forming the plant or tree that yielded the chair, tree, or coffee that we see and feel. Each stemmed from the original prototype at the dawn of Creation.
In the case of the physical body, the seed of Christ, the Last Adam (or the seed of the first Adam) in the spirit and soul (inner life) forms the body (outer life). From there, the reality that exists in Heavenly Father, if we pay inner attention to the seed of Christ within and continuously agree and receive His life and peace, builds His model. It’s from this inner seed-to-plant-to-tree-of-life in Christ that our hopes (and our life-filled physical body) begin to take shape.
It’s simple really, but counter-cultural.
We must become quiet enough to see, to hear, to feel the inner life (spirit and truth with Father) first, continuously choosing Christ, His life, and His peace.
How Different Sectors View the Physical Body
Looking back in time, it seems to be so easy to fall into a ditch – of thought-forming beliefs!
Many believers have not viewed the physical body as important, compared to the spirit. The lost and the prodigals who experience the Lord Jesus Christ and return to Him frequently don’t view it as important, and will gladly go without sleep and/or proper nutrition, in their enthusiasm for Him. Those outside the body of Christ commonly view the body as everything and thus are on a continual quest to satisfy their appetites (food, ambition, pleasure, etc.).
The physical body is not all-important.
However, it is very important.
It is wonder-fully designed by Heavenly Father for our eternal being to be housed safely while dwelling on earth for our missions — and to host Him.
How we perceive our physical body and how we care for it greatly affects how we feel. This significantly impacts our quality of life.
Some Ways We May View the Physical Body
1. as an enemy because of pain endured (emotional, mental, spiritual, relational, financial, etc. pain is felt in the physical body; anger and hostility are internal walls and responses to set boundaries and to deal with enemies)
2. something to be ignored (rather like Greek thinking)
3. something to be beaten into submission (can border asceticism in a quest for holiness or punishment as a means to avoid sin and its effects)
4. something to be pushed past because it doesn’t work well; it’s in pain
5. something to be grudgingly borne because it appears that our prayers aren’t answered for “healing,” thus we attempt to swallow disappointment and anger against Heavenly Father, and soldier on
6. a burden borne because of accumulated pain, trauma, disability in some manner, and forms of dis-ease, etc.
Our physical bodies respond to us. An internal adversarial relationship with the body hinders healing and increases pain.
“The spirit of a person can endure his sickness, But as for a broken spirit, who can endure it?” (NASB, Proverbs 18:14).
Wherever this may apply, I pray for light for you to see in the heart of Father’s love, and grace and mercy to shift and heal, and much more (Ephesians 3:20). Restoration in Christ, Father, expedited!
Surprising News
Not all situations perceived as problems with our physical body require healing; therefore, some of our prayers don’t get answered as we’d hoped because our prayers aren’t even aimed at the right target. Father, cause us to aim at the right target, namely, asking You to lead and please help us recognize and receive Your answers, and where applicable, implement them!
Heavenly Father designed our bodies to live in health. Healing is a natural process of the physical body when it is in balance and supported. Many of the issues that cause our physical bodies to hurt or be off balance did not begin in the physical realm, and cannot be solved there, either.
Higher than Healing
Father continues to speak to me to aim higher.
What is higher than the healing He designed as the “children’s bread” (Mark 7:27)?
It’s His life and peace!
His life and His peace in your spirit is covenant language (Malachi 2:5). It’s replenished by communion in ascended prayer, or before His throne prayer, and transforms your inner world (spiritual) and re-organizes your outer world (physical).
Two Keys to Go Higher
1. Communion in eternal realms
I encourage you to ascend in prayer to take communion. By faith, go in the Spirit through the cross by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ in Him (by focusing, directing intent, and speaking this). Eternity is in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Confess and release what needs to be. Then, by faith, in the eternal realms in/from your heart, take communion – the Lord’s Supper – and receive His life and peace into your whole, multidimensional being. Pray that His progress in you and yours in Him be sealed, established, and rearguarded with His glory.
2. Morning Grace
Heavenly Father asked Kat Kerr when she needed grace.
He responded to her that she needed it every day.
He literally spoke the reality of this verse: “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (NIV, Hebrews 4:16).
He told her to ask for His grace daily before getting out of bed. When I heard her share this encounter, I began asking for His grace for me and my family before arising. It has dramatically changed my life for good. I encourage you to as well!
