He Rescues

God calls us to move out in Him and He will meet us in that place.

Are you feeling trapped in a situation like nothing will ever change, or that no one even cares?  Be encouraged!  God sees your need and sending someone to grab hold of your hand.  He has said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people…”  (Exodus 3: 7)

God sees mistreatment, oppression, yet He comes to deliver and rescue.  He did that for the children of Israel, and He does that for us!  He raised up a man, Moses, appearing to him, from a burning bush, that wasn’t consumed, saying, “Bring them up and out of that land into a good spacious land.  (Exodus 3: 8)

  • God calls us to the fire–To walk through the fire, then to carry the fire.

God calls us to move out in Him and He will meet us in that place.  “When the Lord saw that He had gone over to look, God called to him from within the burning bush.  Moses!  Moses!”  (Exodus 3: 4)

  • We can’t just keep God in the distance, He desires us to come closer. He wants to consume every part of our life, our hearts.

Don’t let the things in life keep you from coming closer.  He sees all the things we struggle with and all the hurts.  He wants to help us in our relationships and set our feet on His path to be used.  Our rescuing God wants us up and out of our situations more than we do.  He sees our entrapment.

  • When the call of God is upon your life, others will often see it before we see it ourselves.

He knows when we turn toward moving in His direction, and answering that call, all the “What if,” questions will begin.  Moses responded by asking, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me…?”  (Exodus 4: 1)

To affirm Moses in his unbelief, God shows him all the miraculous things He will do through his hand.  He asks him a very important question:  “What’s in your hand?” (Exodus 4: 2)

In the natural, we know that Moses had a shepherd’s staff in his hand.  Spiritually speaking, Jesus is the staff (bread) of life.

  • It’s the hand that God uses.
  • He used the hand to feed the 5000.
  • He uses the hand to heal the sick.
  • He uses our hands to war in prayer.

There are many things God uses our hands for.  When we greet one another, we shake their hand.  When we comfort someone, we grab their hand.  When we show endearment to another, we hold their hand.  We proclaim a blessing with our hands.  The list is endless of how God uses our hands.

God said to Moses, “Take this staff in your hand so that you can perform miraculous signs with it.”  (Exodus 4: 17)

  • It’s time to take possession and ownership of what God has put into our hands.

Moses didn’t see, at first, what God had given him or what He was commissioning him to do.  He was afraid, just like we are afraid.  Moses even asked, “O, Lord, please send someone else to do it.”  (Exodus 4: 13)

  • I wonder how many have missed the call of God on their lives because of fear.

God in His graciousness will send a helper, someone who will come alongside of us.  For Moses He sends Aaron. We have now “The Helper” the Holy Spirit, who empowers us and who helps us walk out, what God has called us to.

Jesus remains our Priest forever.  He is King over all and in all.  He is calling us to Him, to carry His fire, just like Moses was called to the fire.  He wants to use us to rescue and grab the hand of those who are drowning, spiritually, and without hope.

Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble.  The Lord will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.” (Psalm 41: 1-2)

Look around!  There are many who need to be regarded.  When we “regard” someone, we, consider or think of someone or something in a specified way.

There are specific needs that we can all meet.  It starts by extending our hand!
