God’s Providence Behind “the Seen”

If I were to pick a Book of the Bible that played out exactly like a suspenseful movie, it would be the Book of Esther.

Like a movie, the stage is set. The Script is written. It cannot be changed, but it can be engaged. When you think about it, we are all actors in God’s drama, one which centers on His glory and grace; and when we learn our lines, we become part of the goodness of the plan of the Lord in spite of the villain’s attempts to destroy. And what’s the plan—for God to make much of Himself through man.

You see, if I were to pick a Book of the Bible that played out exactly like a suspenseful movie, it would be the Book of Esther. With the various plots and subplots, twists and turns, Esther proves that God is always sovereign. He has a plan for your life, and His plan comes with His providential hand.

But here are a few questions for us: Are we personally partnering with God’s Script, knowing His plan is perfect for such a time as this? Are we trusting His providence behind the seen/scenes? If so, we will see the grace of God interwoven through every scene of our lives.

God has a plan. And His plan is to make much of Himself through man.

About the Author

Matthew Maher is an author, speaker, and pastor. Through various vocations, he aims to inspire conscience and instigate conviction. Matthew has gone from pro to con to Christ (From the heights of success to the flatline of failure). As a professional soccer player, he followed the trends of the world while ignoring the truth of God’s Word.

As a result, in 2009, a life-altering failure would change his trajectory and have him collide head-on with the redemption of the Savior. Now he is no longer persuaded by the trends of the culture around him and is committed to share the truth of Christ within him, whatever the cost.
