Many years ago, the Lord showed me a mansion in the Spirit realm, (whether or not I was having an open vision or it was an actual experience, I’m not exactly sure), but as I approached the door of this house with Him, I realized that this house was a representation of me.
While I didn’t completely understand how it could be me at that moment, at one point I thought that it might actually be my Heavenly Mansion, because it even had a Name Tag above the door with my name on it.
However, as I entered the house, the Lord said to me, “This isn’t your Heavenly Mansion that I Am preparing for you, but it is rather My House that’s you in this earth, and I Am taking you on a tour of your own life here and now.”
“Do you not know that YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE (the very sanctuary) OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,” 1 Corinthians 6:19
“For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God’s garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [YOU ARE] GOD’S BUILDING.” 1 Corinthians 3:9
This house had hundreds if not thousands of rooms in it, and each room had a Description above it and whatever was in that room at that moment was on the Title above the door.
Some of the rooms were dark while the others had the Lights turned on. The ones that I had allowed the Holy Spirit access to, were filled with Him and His Light, while the others (which were full of darkness) were the ones that I hadn’t given Him access to yet.
As I opened up one of the doors to a darkened room, and I invited Him into that place, His Light dispelled the darkness inside completely illuminating the room and cleaning it out at the same time as He took up residency there, and the enemy (who had been there previously) had nowhere to return to after being expelled.
“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it roams through waterless places in search [of a place] of rest (release, refreshment, ease); and finding none it says, I will go back to my house from which I came.” Luke 11:24
So many of us who are attempting to be free from the enemy’s clutches, need to allow the Holy Spirit access to these dark places in our lives. While throwing the door open for Him to gain access is one thing, we need to invite Him in so that He can take up residency there in the place of whatever was in there previously, otherwise those previous tenants attempt to return to us and bring its friends (which are other demonic forces) with it.
This makes a lot of people uncomfortable because they don’t want the Lord to see their mess, but He already sees and knows all about it anyway. It’s better to give Him access so that He can take up residency there rather than allowing those things (that you really didn’t want or need that were in that room) to return.
God wants us to not only be freed from those things that bind us, but He desires for us to become the Overcomers that He’s called us to be. As we invite Holy Spirit into the midst of those things, we will no longer find ourselves with any rooms left in our lives for those other things to exist within.
Oh, that we could be like Jesus Christ when He said, “I will not talk with you much more, for the prince of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; THERE IS NOTHING IN ME THAT BELONGS TO HIM, and he has no power over Me.] John 14:30
The Holy Spirit becomes the preventative factor to repel any attempt by those other things from ever returning to your Life! He Whom the Sons sets free is free, but He also wants you to be free, and to Stay Free!
Remember when you’re going upon that tour of your life with Jesus, and you’re throwing those darkened doors open for the Holy Spirit to come in, that you also extend to Him that invitation to take up a Residency there as well, because He Won’t take over areas of your life that you don’t relinquish to Him!
