Recently, the Lord brought back to my remembrance a vision that He gave me seven years ago. The vision resembled the children’s story, The Three Little Pigs. In this vision, the enemy came as a wolf to blow down the houses of God’s people. This wolf was going to the lives and homes of God’s people and blowing demonic winds of accusations and adversity— with the intent of bringing destruction to them.
Just like in the story of The Three Little Pigs, the wolf began to shout threats and blow winds that sought to destroy them. This is what the wolf in my vision was doing. The Lord is using this initial wind to have His people look upon the structure of their lives, home, and His Church to see if it is able to keep the wolf out and stand against the great threats and wind that he is blowing. God is asking us to examine the doorways, the foundation, and the walls to ensure that we are safe and secure from this enemy.
I am reminded of when Nehemiah returned with the Jewish exiles to Jerusalem. He knew there were many wolves just waiting to destroy them and that the gates and walls around the city must be rebuilt and fortified. I am also now seeing this as a picture of what Hamas recently did when they rushed into the homes of unexpected, innocent Israelis and began murdering their families. Yet, this vision was given to me seven years ago.
But now I said to them, “You know very well what trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire. Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace!”” Nehemiah 2:17
The enemy has sent assignments that seek to bring both destruction and disgrace to God’s people. But God is rebuilding the walls and gates in order to fortify His people and all that belongs to Him.
In the Book of Nehemiah, we read that the repairs began with the gateways. I believe that God has been securing the doorways (gateways) of our lives, homes, and even our churches. He has been purifying what we allow in and restoring the broken places and gates where the enemy has previously entered. The wolf is once again blowing demonic winds to bring destruction so we need to repair every gap and assign families to help repair them.
On an individual level, these gaps or broken places can be lies that have been believed (agreed with), sin that has been allowed in, and words that have been allowed to come forth from mouths (physical gates) that bring death rather than life— words that partner with death, division and the accuser of the brethren. We must be aware of what and who we partner with because there are also wolves in sheep’s clothing that come to infiltrate and destroy from the inside out. God is exposing this as well.
God is repairing the walls of His Church with His truth, righteousness, and purity. He is the Chief Cornerstone of our lives and His house. He is the beginning and the end of all, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He must be the builder of our lives, and our homes, and the sure foundation of His Church.
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” Psalm 127:1
God is shoring up our foundations so that the enemy cannot blow our houses down. He is securing our foundations from any places that were set on sinking sand so that we may have our full foundation upon the Rock of Christ— our Solid Rock!
This rebuilding is happening in individual lives, churches/ministries, cities, and nations. God is raising up His global family that will walk in oneness with Him and one another through Christ our Lord. He is preparing a pure and spotless bride. He is retrofitting families and spiritual foundations. He is building houses of refuge and fortified places that will not be shaken when the winds of adversity come. And He is building an impenetrable wall that will prove to be the Psalm 91 fortress for His people in the days ahead.
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” Psalms 91:1-4
We put our confidence in God alone— who is building His Church. It is not the strength of any man that can accomplish this but the faith of all of His sons and daughters that He will finish the work.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6
And to that, we add our “Amen!”
