It is 3:03 in the morning and I felt compelled to write this to you, who have never tasted or known about the “Down Payment” or “Foretaste.”
I call it just a smidgen of what we will see when we leave this world, but now I hear The LORD saying that we, “Will see it in this world very soon!”
“In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.
That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it — to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 AMPC.
It is literally a ‘foretaste’ of The Glory to come!
In fact, The Word says in 1 Corinthians 2,
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
God has been reminding me of this the last few weeks.
When I gave my life to Him 40 years ago now, I will never forget the first couple of years when I literally felt as if this bubble — or atmosphere — of the love and presence of God was surrounding me and It was glorious!
God told me the other day that this was only, “a foretaste of what is about to come!”
At the time I had nothing to do with making this happen, except surrender to God, and a willingness to do whatever He wanted.
But even at that time, God said to me. “It is a foretaste of The Glory to come — and no one will be able to say that they made it happen!
No man will get the Glory for what I AM about to do!”
“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in The LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.” Joel 2:23.
There was a time when I was not looking for God, but because of my mother’s Prayers — and many others too — The Holy Spirit came suddenly to me and totally turned my world upside down, all that I suddenly loved before that moment, I no longer loved — but all I wanted was that Presence of which I had had a foretaste of that day — and many days and years after — even until now.
I am here to tell you from The LORD tonight, that things are about to change very suddenly — and that “Down Payment” or “Foretaste” of what many of you have had, is about to be given to you in fullness!
There is an outpouring of The Glory that we are suddenly stepping into!
God is pouring out of the windows of Heaven in the days ahead, and no one will be able to say they worked for it!
He said to tell you this morning, to imagine the most glorious time in His Presence that you ever had — and then know that that was just a foretaste of what He is about to do!
“I have longed as you have, for these days ahead,” says The LORD, “and it is your inheritance, and better still, it is My Inheritance!
Glory beyond your imagination!
This glory will not only be in your gatherings — but will overflow into the bars and in the streets and will pull your children into my arms.
So rejoice children of The LORD — because I will do a work in your day that has never been seen nor heard!”
