Fly Like the Eagles

When we feel ourselves falling out of the air He has promised, “My grace is enough for you.

Isaiah 40:31, “But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need rest; they will walk and not become tired.”

Have you ever watched an eagle fly? They can soar high above the ground, wings spread out in grandeur, simply gliding across the skies. They can see far distances even the smallest things below them, and they have great power. Eagles are definitely one of God’s magnificent creations. God even tells us when we go to Him, He can give us the strength we need to “soar” like eagles.

God can do this because of His mighty power and as His children we have the opportunity to tap into that and soar like eagles. This can happen when we go to God in prayer and seek Him. A God who created this world out of nothing freed the Israelites with plagues against Egypt and saved Daniel in the lion’s den by shutting the hungry mouths of the lions. A God who walked in a fiery furnace saving Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego. Noah and the flood, Joseph’s story. The one who sent His Son into this world to save us all and also raised Him from the dead. This God, our God, is so amazing and promises us such strength when we go to Him. When we pray to Him, He heals, He blesses, He comforts, He leads, and He is with us.

Knowing we can serve such a wonderful, powerful, loving God should have us all soaring to new heights and flying as high as the eagles. As an eagle glides across the skies, we too can sail along knowing we have a God, a father, who hears our prayers and petitions in all our situations, and he has the power to change not only the things around us, but He will help change us.

We can fly because God has the power to change us: Look at Paul. He was known as Saul before Christ entered his life and he spent his time crucifying Christians. Yet, once God entered his heart, his thoughts, attitudes, his mission changed to bring God glory and others to Christ. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, He can change us as well.

We can fly because God has the power to change those around us: If you know of a loved one or a friend who needs salvation, keep praying. If there is someone who simply bugs you or always brings you down, keep praying. God can change those around us either by using our influences or by His will alone.

We can fly because God can change our circumstances: Have you ever flown a kite and as it’s soaring along there is a change of circumstances that knocks the wind right out of its tail, and it comes tumbling down. Life will do the same to us from time to time, but God can help lift us up again out of those circumstances. Look how God helped Joseph through each circumstance and each time he was lifted out of it, it was always better than before. Prayer can help change each circumstance we face with God’s power.

We can fly because God has the power to heal: What happens when your kite gets a hole in it? It can’t fly again until you fix it. When we read the Bible, we can see over and over not only how God healed but how Jesus healed many while here on earth as well. Physical, feelings, and more; whatever is ailing us God can and will heal. Let God heal you so you can fly high in the sky again.

It’s such an encouragement to know we serve such a loving, powerful God that when we feel ourselves falling out of the air He has promised, “My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you.” So, I am very happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can live in me.”- 2 Corinthians 12:9. All we need to do is tap into His power through prayer and before we know it, we will be soaring to new heights.

Studying the Bible can be so beneficial in helping us get through our days, our trials, and our weaknesses. It can also bring joy, peace, and show us more of Jesus and how we can live to be more like Him. It brings hope and we can learn of God’s wonderful love for us. When we read the Bible we are taking steps to grow our relationship with Jesus each day because we are spending time with Him and we can learn His voice more clearly the more we spend time with Him.
