One of the things God has been speaking to me about recently is His desire for His people to dream with Him. Over the years in ministry, I have encountered many individuals who clearly had a call of God on their lives and were gifted and talented but were held back by their limiting beliefs. I’ve seen people who pray very small limiting prayers and it has made me grieve for them.
Because of their limiting beliefs, they think small, pray small, and dream small. Their hopes are small and the vision that they have for their lives is small. But almost every time I encounter someone like this I see a person who should have huge dreams. I see a man or woman of God who is destined to do great things for God. This is why you must allow the Lord to help you to see yourself the way He sees you. When you are able to see yourself the way God does that is the first step to dreaming big with Him!
How many times do we dream too small when God wants us to dream big with Him? When we dream small, we not only limit ourselves but we are also limiting God. The Lord is always looking for those who will open up their hearts and minds for Him to dream through them. And my friends, God has never dreamed a small dream. He desires to dream big through you and has so much more in mind for you than you could ever even fathom for yourself.
We know that we serve a limitless God who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and infinitely wise. He is the God who created everything. He is the King of the Universe and as His child, you dare to dream small? Because of who God is we know that there is absolutely no limit to Him. And I truly believe that as a child of God, there should be no limit to you. We are Kingdom citizens and there is no limit in the Kingdom of God. His authority and power know no end and we should live limitless lives as children of God.
Ephesians 3:20 in the Amplified Bible says, “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us…” Think about the powerful truth in this scripture. God is not only able to do more than we dare to ask but He even dares us to dream beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, and dreams. How big are your prayers? How great are your hopes and dreams? Are you asking too little of God in your dreams and prayers?
Because this scripture is proof that you could never ask beyond what God can do. I want to challenge you to enlarge your prayers. Let your hopes soar higher than they ever have before as you look to the limitless power of God. In this season, allow the Lord to enlarge your mindset to actually dream big with Him.
The difference between a good “Christian” mindset and a Kingdom mindset is shifting from a place of asking God to partner with you, to instead asking God how you can partner with Him. When you go from seeing God as your co-pilot in life to the pilot of your life you will begin to see Him do exceedingly abundantly more than you could have ever imagined for yourself. I’ve had many people ask me how you know what your purpose is and I honestly believe that whatever God wants you to do He has already put in your heart.
If you will run with the things that He has already planted in your heart, everything changes. It’s time for you to tap into the realms of the Kingdom and begin stewarding the prophetic seeds that the Holy Spirit put inside of you. Then you will see every area of your life begin to bloom and thrive.
Psalm 32:8 says, “I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before.” We want to stay in our comfort zones within the realms of possibility our natural minds can understand. But as you walk with God He will always lead you out into the great unknown. Don’t be afraid to take God by the hand and let Him take you where you never could have imagined.
This is your season to live, pray, hope, and dream bigger than you ever have before! It’s time for you to dream big with God!
