I’ve heard the phrase, “Don’t look back!” three times now. The last time was one afternoon while listening to a 30-year-old sermon from 1984!
Lot’s wife was a famous pillar of salt — because she looked back. She looked back at her old life from which The LORD was delivering her.
Jesus put it even more strongly when He said,
“No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God,” Luke 9:62.
Hear the word of The LORD!
“In this coming season, I will lead each of you exactly where I want you to be.
Keep looking and keep pressing forward. The land I AM taking you is today’s ‘Promised Land’!
Never look back whence you have come. If I wanted you there, I would have left you there.
No — look forward to the destiny I have planned for you, and those I bring with you.
There must be no comparison to the place you have left. No whimsical reminiscing over what once was.
No wishful thinking that you can repeat what once was — that time, that season is over!
Why else would you be moving on? I AM moving you to a new place, a new season, and a new assignment!
Do not look back, lest I leave you there!” says The LORD.
There is a price to pay for reminiscing! You are in danger of losing whatever The LORD is leading you toward if you look back at what was or at what might have been!
Only forward!
Only look towards your destination — even if you don’t know where that might be!
The NEW SEASON is upon us!
