As I was praying the other day, I was thinking about the goodness of God and found myself just in a posture of praise and thanksgiving. I could feel the presence of the Lord so strong around me and then I felt the Lord just sort of impress upon my spirit, what I can only describe as an invitation or a leading of the Holy Spirit to walk in a greater measure of discernment in this season. Then the Lord began speaking to me about how if believers could honestly understand all that He has for them in their future and destiny, then they would ask for that greater measure of discernment.
You see when we get God’s vision for our lives then we are able to overcome things that may have derailed us if we were unaware of what He wants to do in and through our lives. Part of walking in greater discernment is knowing who you are in God, having that secure spiritual identity, and then moving forward into those things that come organically from having God’s vision for your life.
A crucial part of gaining discernment is knowing who and what you are called to be and do within the Kingdom of God.
I believe that in this season the Lord is calling us to ask Him for deep revelation and wisdom that will give us greater discernment. I also believe that those who have key discernment at this moment in history will see everything in their lives and realm of influence radically shift. Our world, its systems, and culture are changing so rapidly but the Lord knows and sees everything that will transpire.
God is looking for those that He can entrust with divine intel so that they can strategically be at the forefront of the change happening in the world in order to advance the kingdom of God and bring blessing. I had friends who were instructed by the Lord over a decade ago to purchase land in a certain area right outside of the city they were living in. Then over 10 years later, the city had grown and was expanding right into the land they had purchased.
The Lord told me when I first started writing books to write what He told me to write and don’t worry about book sales numbers. Years after I released one of my books, it began to sell more in just a short period of time than it had the entire time it had been published previously. I don’t know what the Lord will speak to you about moving forward in but it is so important to always respond in obedience. We never know what the Lord is doing behind the scenes or down the line!
Many times the Lord will speak to you or give you instructions in your current season in order to position and prepare you for a coming season. Part of becoming spiritually mature is learning to fully trust and obey the voice of the Lord even when what He is asking of us makes absolutely no sense to our natural minds. Hebrews 5:14 says, “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
I truly believe that the Lord is looking for those, especially in this season, who will seek Him for that greater discernment needed to navigate the upcoming season. It is time for us, as the body of Christ, to build upon those foundational truths of our faith and move toward greater maturity and depth in the spirit.
Philippians 1:9-10 says, “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ”. I believe that this is exactly what the Lord wants to do for many of us in this hour. To make us able to discern what is best and what is pure from a Kingdom perspective. It is the only way we can go forth and do everything that God has in store for each of us.
I’m telling you, my friends, that the time for us to have greater and deeper discernment is now! Key discernment will give us the insight we need to be a part of the powerful things God is doing and will soon do on the earth. Make sure you are listening to the Lord. Make sure you are seeking Him in prayer. And make sure to ask Him for this greater discernment not because you need it for this season and for the season to come!
