I realized the LORD was showing me things thus far over the horizon, but which are about to come into full view.

Recently, over our pre-everything cup of coffee, the LORD led me to these two verses — Amos 3:7 and Amos 9:13.

I looked at them, both well known and often quoted, especially Amos 3:7, and I said to myself, “Odd bedfellows!”

I felt the urge to dig a little deeper. As I did so, I realized the LORD was showing me things thus far over the horizon, but which are about to come into full view.

I also realised, yet again, that the LORD keeps things plain and simple when there is an element of imminence in His Words.

This doesn’t require any deep theological thinking. It’s as plain as the nose on your face really.

So — verse by verse:

“Surely the LORD God does nothing Without revealing His secret plan [of the judgment to come] To His servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 AMP

“Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 NKJV

This ‘popular’ verse, oft quoted and just as oft misused, tells us that the LORD is serving us notice that something is about to happen that has long been prophesied — Revival — but maybe not as we are probably expecting!

Actually, I don’t think any of us has any real idea what to expect. ‘Unlike anything seen before,’ is the most common description.

Well, that probably rules out things similar to Toronto or Pensacola, or any of the more recent occurrences.

None of us really knows what Wales and Asuza Street looked like, other than through the eyewitness accounts, and very few actually remember the Hebridean Revival.

Having said that, the words that return to me time after time, and which The LORD is putting front and centre as I write this, are ‘a Revival of Personal Holiness and Clean hearts before the LORD!’

Similar at least to Hebrides!

That’s what, in the sense of Amos 3:7, the LORD is speaking and showing to me for the coming season — personal holiness, clean hearts, and a repentant spirit!

Then,

“Behold, the days are coming,” says The LORD, “When the plowman shall overtake the one who gathers the harvest, And the one who treads the grapes [shall overtake] him who sows the seed [for the harvest continues until planting time]; When the mountains will drip sweet wine And all the hills shall melt [that is, everything that was once barren will overflow with streams of blessing].” Amos 9:13 AMP

““Behold, the days are coming,” says The LORD, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.” Amos 9:13 NKJV

This is speaking to me of the speed at which this coming move will gather momentum.

I see the evangelists arriving in town to hear that even in the last two or three days prior to their arrival, to plant the seeds of revival, so signs, wonders, and salvations have already been experienced!

So the sower shall be the reaper!

Having revealed this, the LORD then showed me the Salvations, Signs, Wonders, and Miracles that are coming.

Many people, who haven’t previously experienced them, expect ‘revival meetings’ to be well-ordered but a little noisy, respectful but a little vulgar, well-timed, and orderly.

Later, the LORD brought this description to my Facebook feed, and I believe this was written by Heidi Davis, and I quote:

“Can you imagine the scene when Jesus walked into town?
The unclean flocking to him.
Limping.
Crying.
The drunkard stumbling in.
People cutting themselves.
Open sores.
Wounds oozing.
Limbs rotting off.
People dying.
Children appearing dead.
Mothers wailing.
The blind crying out.
Demons manifesting.
People in complete psychosis.
Women bleeding.
The prostitutes walking in the shadows.
The deaf begging, to the best of their ability, to be taken to Him.
Does that sound neat and tidy?
It was dirty.
It had a foul odor.
It was loud and disorderly.
It was often dangerous.
It was SCANDALOUS.
SCANDALOUS GRACE.
SCANDALOUS MERCY.
Please stop expecting revival to be clean and neat, and orderly. Only the Pharisees were disgusted by the lack of order.
Just help people get to the cross.”

This is what happens in Revival when the Holy Spirit begins to work among us!

That last sentence is going to be our only instruction — to help people find, then get to, The Cross. God will do the rest

In humility and the Fear of the LORD!
