Imperceptible influences work to skewer our perceptions.
Often, we don’t recognize that we’re perceiving through a lens or an auditory factor that’s not even our own. Sometimes, these are our own, and they’re colored by our own experience. However, many of our perceptions are influenced by outside sources that remain hidden.
Light and sound are extremely important. They’re created by Father for goodness. Yet, they can be (and often are) manipulated, and we don’t even recognize it.
For instance, a communication exchange happened with a person I’d recently met. I felt a negative response in me and recognized there was no viable reason for it. The Lord taught me that the beginning of any relationship (or project or the beginning of anything!) is crucial because it’s a foundation. I fought to keep releasing the negative and to stand in a place of positive internally. As it unfolded, this person became a conduit of blessing for my family.
Discern and Overcome False Negatives
Have you ever felt yourself being turned against someone or some place?
Sometimes, it is discernment and it’s the Lord.
However, He has taught me to question the negatives. If I feel a negative response in myself, it’s the cue to turn to the Lord. Like most mothers always exhort, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything.” Yes! Beyond that, bless, bless quietly, bless in your thoughts.
The air clears. This creates more light to see what is actually happening. If it’s a true negative discerned from the Lord’s Spirit, He’ll let you know what to do.
However, many negatives are false negatives because His ancient enemy is attempting to steal something.
The Lord spoke about the importance of the eye, and the eye is linked to perceptions, among many other spiritual and physical functions. “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light” (KJV, Matthew 6:22).
As it turns out, many times that we feel ourselves being subtly or overtly turned against someone or some place, it is because of imperceptible influences that are creating a false light and sound in order to steal, kill and destroy in some way.
Please hear this.
Father’s ancient enemy uses this tactic to steal answers to your prayers.
Beyond the Surface
In the situation I experienced with the start of that relationship, enough training from the Lord caused me to recognize the pull of the negative. Thankfully, I yielded it to the Lord (it was a struggle) and blessings were able to flow.
The Lord spoke to me that no matter how I try to clear my perceptions if they aren’t in line with His, then they are going to be off-base in some way. Further, He directed me to very intentionally come to Him and open my perceptions to connect to His.
I found myself looking at some situations recently as if they were negative, and then I asked Him what His perceptions were. His were extremely positive about the situations I viewed as negative. He then shined His light, and I could “see” or perceive, and suddenly, my emotional/spiritual outlook soared.
In conclusion, not every way we perceive originates internally, though some do. Many times, imperceptible influences intentionally try to turn us against a person or place through which Father is moving to release blessing or favor or something positive. Even when we are aware of the necessity to have right perceptions, they can still be off-base unless they’re connected to the Lord.
Prayer Guide
(feel free to change as you’re led)
I encourage you to pray!
Lord, I know I do not perceive as You do. I open my perceptions to You and ask You to cleanse them with Your blood, and I come into agreement with Your deliverance and healing where necessary. I choose to join my perceptions to Yours. Please cause me to be aware of how I’m perceiving, and receive the cues to turn to You when mine are off-base. I choose to come into union with Your perceptions. Cause me to perceive my life, others, and situations through Your perceptions in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
