Keep Praising God

There is an endless number of reasons to give God praise for what He has done and who He is.

While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Psalm 146:2

When there is someone that everyone appears to love for some reason, people are quick to praise that person. Everyone will be talking about that person with high praise for what that person did or had done. Often one can hear those praises all the time, everywhere one looks or listens. This is commonly heard of musicians and actors who have done a great performance or a series of great performances that catches everyone’s attention.

This psalmist begins this psalm with praises to God. He then states that as long as he lives, he will sing praises to the Lord God.

Seeing someone do something great makes it easy for one to sing praises about that person. However, many see good things being done and don’t always give the praise due to a person. Often things are taken for granted or just for what is expected.

God is often treated in this same way. He is always moving and doing great things, but often, most people do not stop to give Him any praise. Or they only give praise when everything is going the way they want things to go. During difficult times, very few will still give God praise.

Every believer who understands what God has done for them just in the forgiveness and salvation will want to always praise God. The praise will even be more when one knows God is with one, even in times of trouble, pain, and suffering.

With everything that God has already done, the believer should be praising Him every moment of every day. There is an endless number of reasons to give God praise for what He has done and who He is.

Looking at your own life, think about what God has done in both the good and difficult times of your life. Also, take a moment to realize all the good things God has blessed you with throughout your life. Now think about who God is and how great He is. With all these thoughts, you should have enough to praise God with all day, every day, for the rest of your life. As long as you have breath to breathe and a life to live, give God praise.

Sing praises to the Lord day and night for the world to hear.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as Lord and Savior; that you will see and know what God has done and is doing in your life; that you will know who God is; and that you will sing praises to God all the time.
