I heard this for God’s people today, “You Are Under the Authority of The I Am.”
Start declaring as a follower of Jesus who “You Are.”
So, I went to the Word and repeated these statements out loud on who “you are” in Christ. Here they are:
- You Are His Child.
- You Are His Friend.
- You Are His Soldier.
- You Are His Ambassador.
- You Are His Temple.
- You Are His Chosen.
- You Are His Beloved.
- You Are Fit For The Master’s Use.
- You Are Sanctified.
- You Are Eternally Loved.
- You Are Kept In The Palm Of His Hand.
- You Are Seated With Him In Heavenly Places.
- You Are Secure In Christ.
- You Are More Than A Conqueror.
- You Are An Overcomer.
- You Are Covered By His Blood.
- You Are An Oracle Of God.
- You Are Redeemed.
- You Are Restored.
- You Are Renewed.
- You Are Above, Not Beneath.
- You Are Blessed.
- You Are Highly Favored.
- You Are His Forever.
Fill in your own “you are” statements and allow the Lord to strengthen you in who you are. It’s time to start declaring who YOU are in Him.
If there is doubt and this is hard for you to grasp, He says, “Come as you are!” He will show you.
Here’s what He showed me:
Incidentally, the word doubt (distazo) in Greek means: a settled unbelief, a state of uncertainty and hesitation.
An example of this doubt and unbelief is in Matthew 28: 16-19. Jesus appeared to the eleven disciples after the resurrection in Galilee after being instructed to go there by the women at the tomb who saw the resurrected Jesus. In Galilee on the mountain, they (the disciples) waited and then Jesus appeared. “When they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted.” Matthew 28: 17
Did we just read they were doubting? Yes, we did!
Am I saying that the disciples that Jesus instructed to go and meet Him are uncertain, hesitant, and unbelieving?
Yes, I am saying that.
God meets believers, followers, and disciples in our state of doubt and unbelief. Yet, He still calls us.
He says, “Therefore, go and make disciples…” Matthew 28: 19
Before He told them to go, He tells them how they are going. He says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” Matthew 28: 18
Between our doubt and going, we have been given His authority that will enable us to go.
How do we get from doubt to making disciples? Making disciples requires belief and obedience IN HIM.
Who YOU are in Him is how we will go–in His name and in His authority.
So, if you are doubting who you are and what He’s called you to do, remember all authority has been given to Him.
To know for sure, we must remember that He has reassured us and told us, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 20
A very large part of being with us always is the truth by allowing us to walk in His authority, not our own.
We can do nothing on our own, only in Him and through Him.
