Do we look forward to the day when He appears, when Jesus returns to the earth? Oh, what a glorious day that will be!
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are!” (1 John 3: 1)
- Our God lavishes (bestows in generous and extravagant quantities) on us.
“Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies Himself; just as He is pure.” (1 John 2: 3)
- This hope is not just a wish, it is unshakable confidence concerning our future.
He Shall Come Again
Jesus appeared so that He might take away sins. And in Him, there is no sin. So the question is: “Are you in Him?” How we live our life is seen by who lives in us. As a Christian, Jesus lives in us and we live for Him. It’s a divine exchange that has taken place at the cross.
“No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him.” (1 John 3: 6)
- To know Him is to believe in Him.
- It’s so much deeper than just to know about Him.
The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devils’ work.
Love One Another
“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3: 18)
- Actions do speak louder than words.
- Those who live in Him, listen and obey.
Those who live in Him, obey His commands and He in them. How do we know that He lives in us? “We know it by the Spirit He gave us.” (1 John 3: 24)

Our Days Are Numbered
The Psalmist realizes that our days on this earth have already been calculated in the Lord’s calendar. He knows the day and hour for everything! “Teach us to number our days aright that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 91: 12)
Another scripture that supports this is: “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139: 16)
- You are ordained by God.
- You are part of the heavenly royal register of God’s decisions.
That’s why nothing is random or accidental in the kingdom of God. Your life matters! This is what He does: “Satisfying us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy to be glad all our days.” (Psalm 90: 4)
- God is all about establishing us. (Shared from Psalm 90, Modified)
A Proclamation Has Been Made
As we conclude 2 Chronicles, we saw the fall and rise of many kings. Some are good and some are bad. We see the fall of Jerusalem. They set fire to God’s temple and broke down the wall of Jerusalem. They bound all the palaces and destroyed everything of value there.
“In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia…the land moved the heart of Cyrus, King of Persia, to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing: “The Lord, the God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah–may the Lord his God be within and let him go up.” (2 Chronicles 36: 22-23)
Before the Lord returns, His temple shall be restored! “He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121: 4)
