What If God Says No

Wise counsel from those around you who are mature in the Lord, can often prevent you from making critical mistakes.

I’m so thankful for the Body of Christ. Often we as believers are eager to jump into situations when we shouldn’t. We forget when we are going full steam ahead, that God’s response to our circumstances might just be no.

Often we are unaccustomed to hearing that word from our Heavenly Father, but He will say it to preserve us at times. The old adage that it’s easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission doesn’t include the consequences of decisions that God is trying to spare us from.

Every one of us has blind spots in our vision, where we cannot see, much like when you’re driving your car and there are blind spots around your vehicle that are invisible to your vision, because they are obscured by part of the car itself. It’s at times like this when we need to rely upon those who are in the vehicle with us, (other parts of the Body of Christ) to be able to see what we ourselves cannot see.

In every person’s life, there’s a need for others to speak. There’s safety in a multitude of counselors, especially when you are preparing to launch into things that will drastically affect your future. Wise counsel from those around you who are mature in the Lord, can often prevent you from making critical mistakes that could not only damage your life but the lives of those around you.

What if Abraham had had wise counsel from an outside party, when God had told Him that he was going to be the father of a generation; and instead of making an Ishmael with Hagar, he had been warned and waved off by God through an outside source. That prevention would have probably changed the entire dynamic of the Middle East and Israel’s current situation would look enormously different in the world currently.

God puts safeguards around our lives in the form of Intercessors and Counselors to prevent us from walking into situations that we simply can’t see fully! While walking by faith is awesome, and I don’t discount that, it’s even better to receive Supernatural support from the visions and the counsel of those around you who can see where you can’t.

I have learned over the years to trust some people in my life, to guard my life, from these things that I cannot perceive at times, and as they do I can maintain God’s peace upon my life.

Many times I have wanted to go off and launch forward into things, and as I have done so, those I trust around me to speak into my life have thrown up Caution Tape in my path to slow my pace forward and sometimes stop it completely.

If you’re in an uncertain place and not sure of your direction or your path, I encourage you to surround yourself with wise counselors, Intercessors, and Prayer Warriors who will pray for your life. Be willing to allow those folks to safeguard your life, because as you do, you may keep yourself from destruction or even birthing an Ishmael in the spirit realm.
