MANY ASK, “WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?”
MY QUESTION IS: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING …WITH?
It’s true… Waiting is one of the most difficult things that faith requires.
All of us are waiting for something, but… Beware!
Satan will always tempt you to doubt while you wait, or get you frustrated while you wait, or, even worse, make you refuse to wait. If you fall for his trap, you’ll be headed for the trouble he has planned for you.
When Satan can get you to try and make things happen on your own, he’ll have you exactly where he wants you: Outside of God’s will.
Contrary to Feelings
Contrary to how it may feel sometimes, waiting is not about torture; it’s about building trust.
Waiting is not about punishment; it’s for our protection. Let’s look at David. He was anointed to be King at the age of 17 years old but didn’t take the throne until he was about 34. What happened during his 17-year wait? David’s character was built; his trust in God was tested, and he was trained to reign.
Also, Abraham and Sarah… It took 25 years for God’s promise to produce Isaac. They learned in their 25-year wait to get out of God’s way.
God doesn’t want you to just obtain the promise; He wants you to have the character to maintain the promise.
How do you wait for the promise in a way that pleases God? It’s not “how” you wait, it’s more about what you wait…with. You don’t have to wait alone.
Here are the 5 Companions You Need When Waiting:
First, Wait with Intention – Waiting doesn’t mean sitting and “doing nothing”. While waiting, you must remain willing and ready to be used by God. (Luke 19:13)
Second, Wait with Trust – This is an opportunity to count on God and His word. (Psalm 56:3-4)
Third, Wait with Worship– This proves that you’re focused on Who God is, more than what He can do for you. (Psalm 62:8 TPT)
Fourth, Wait with Praise – This deepens your faith. (Isaiah 25:9)
Fifth, Wait with Patience – This means you’ve surrendered your timeline to God’s.
You’re no longer focused on the clock, calendar, or your agenda. (Isaiah 40:1)
It Can Be a Challenge – What Are You Waiting For?
Thankfully, God knew that our natural desire for quick answers and instant results would be challenging. When the waiting feels unbearable, He’s given us promises to anchor our hearts, renew our minds, and manage our emotions.
Does it feel like your prayers have been put on a waitlist?
Think you’ve been in the Waiting Room of Unanswered Prayer for too long? Remember, the delay of your desired outcome doesn’t mean your prayer has been declined. It means the wait is producing a far greater result than an instant answer could ever offer.
When you wait with intention, trust, worship, praise, and patience as your companions, you won’t sweat delays because, you know, your destiny is guaranteed.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart… Psalm 27:14
