Are we understanding the place that we have been given in God, as a believer? There’s a higher place than what we know. Even the birds are always seeking to go higher.
The Lord reminds us that “We are seated with Him in heavenly places.” (Ephesians 2: 6) How did we get there? The first part of the verse says, “God raised us up, with Christ…” (Ephesians 2: 6)
King David is mourning the death of his son, Absalom, who was hateful and wicked, yet still his son.
- A father’s love for their child is deep, it’s unconditional and sees beyond all the hurt and wounding.
Joab sees David depressed and still in a place of anguish, yet he goes to David reminding him of the victory that God has given him with the battle. He prompts him to think of the people, who are still loyal supporters, showing God’s grace and mercy.
- Learn to see good even in tragedy.
- Change your focus.
David receives Joab’s rebuke, gets up, and goes to the seat at the gate. Sitting at the gate, told the people that David would continue to reign.
Have you ever thought that God wants us to take a seat, at the given place with Him? Where is that place, in the place of authority?
David was given a place, a position in the kingdom to rule and reign. So are we, in Christ, to rule and reign and take dominion. Our original call, as God created man, was to take dominion over what He created.
Man was given a seat of honor, created by God and for God, for His purpose and to build His kingdom. “ So, above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. (Matthew 6: 33-34)
It’s the less important things that cause us to worry because we have exalted them to a place of importance that they should never have been given.
- It’s time for a priority shift.
- It’s not about us.
- It’s about Him.
If there is anything I am learning about all that’s going on in our world now, we need to build the Kingdom of God!

His Kingdom Come, His Will Be Done. Daniel is concluding the words given to him, a reminder of the place he’s been given. He was told, “There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people–everyone whose name is found written in the book–will be delivered.” (Daniel 1: 1)
He’s then told, “The words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.” (Daniel 12: 9)

Jesus is reminding us to feed His people. Feed them with the Bread of Life. Feed them with His Truth.
The Pharisees came to test him again. They wanted a sign. They wanted more proof of Jesus’ divine authority. He chose not to answer or perform a sign because their request came from unbelief.
- Always be wise when answering questions, from disgruntled people, they could be traps that we don’t want to step into.
- Jesus didn’t have to prove Himself to anyone, nor do we.
Know your place!
