Read this, but first ask Holy Spirit to give you fresh eyes to see, new ears to hear, and a greater understanding.
Please read this line by line – and then pause.
And then read it again.
I have read it multiple times over and over, asking the Lord to allow each verse, and each word to penetrate my heart and to challenge my understanding.
Once you see it – you can’t unsee it.
Ephesians 1:16-20
16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light (Holy Spirit) so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.
That last sentence still blows my mind – that we would be called His rich and glorious inheritance – but I have confidence in His word.
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. (Stop – Pause – Read it Again)
The – Incredible- Greatness – Of – God’s – Power – For – Us – Who – Believe – Him
This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
(Read 19 again and then 20 again)
Do you believe Him?
Not believe IN HIM.
Many believe IN HIM and yet walk in no power.
That’s not what it says. Read it again. I missed it the first 20 times I read it.
Do we BELIEVE HIM when He says He has given us the same power that raised Jesus from the dead???
Do you know where you are seated?
Do I?
Do you understand what you have access to?
Do you understand WHO you have access to?
Read it again, and again, and again, and again.
Holy Spirit isn’t a Bible-reading app. He isn’t commentary. We have been given authority and power – beloved.
The Word of the Lord says so.
Any man who says otherwise is calling God a liar.
Now we must ask for wisdom on how to steward it properly to glorify THE FATHER. The power and authority given is not to elevate ourselves. This is a trap of the enemy. The power and authority we are given belongs to Christ. It is to reveal Jesus to a lost and dying world.
Does God need us?
Surely not.
However, God chooses to work through His people.
This power and authority is not about US. This power and authority is about reaching everyone else!
The gifts are not about US.
It’s not a gift.
Singular.
It’s THE GIFTS.
Plural.
The gifts are about EVERYONE ELSE.
It’s not something to be kept.
It’s something to be given away!
This is how He set it up, and to not walk fully in the inheritance of Holy Spirit is to not honor the greatest sacrifice ever made.
Leave nothing on the table.
Please read Ephesians 1:16-20 again.
And again.
And again.
And then ask yourself this question…
DO YOU BELIEVE HIM?
Not what you have been taught, or thought, or watched in a YouTube sermon.
NOT do you believe me.
DO YOU BELIEVE GOD?
