Talk With Him

Prophetic words will be backed up by scripture, as the Holy Spirit carries these words along and releases them.

Where do you go to talk with God?  Some prefer to be in nature, or in a quiet setting.  Others like to go for a walk, or sit in a favorite chair or position.  Wherever you prefer to position yourself, He’s listening.

Are you questioning some things about another person?  Are you wanting to find some things out that you are curious about?

The Queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relation to the name of the Lord.”  (1 Kings 10: 1)

She came to test him with hard questions.  Everything she had on her mind, she talked with him.  He answered all of her questions, for nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her.  After meeting with him, she was overwhelmed.

  • The king desires to overwhelm us with His revelation and wisdom.

The Queen was so impressed with Solomon that she blessed Solomon with large quantities of gold, precious stones, and spices.  Ships brought in almug wood and the king used this wood to make supports for the temple.  It is similar to sandalwood, reddish in color.  This was known to be a very precious wood.

He blessed the queen in return with riches and she then returned to her own country.  Yes, they exchanged gifts to one another.

  • Our God is a God of divine exchange.

The amount of gold Solomon accumulated was too large to count.  He was greater in riches than all the other kings of the earth.  “The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.”  (1 Kings 10: 24)

  • The king wants us to hear His heart.
  • We can achieve that when we talk with Him and listen.
  • God will provide the audience that He wants us to speak to.
  • When that audience is provided, always remember, it’s all for the audience of One.  (Shared from 1 Kings 10, Modified)

God’s love for us is always drawing us back to Him.  Hosea spoke “You must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.”  (Hosea 12: 6)  It’s the waiting part where we mess up, isn’t it?  Who likes to wait?

Riches brought a sense of self-sufficiency to Israel that took them away from serving the Lord.

  • Be cautious!  Self-sufficiency can pull us away from the Lord.

The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt, by a prophet He cared for him.”  (Hosea 12: 13)

  • In their desert wanderings, He cared for them through Moses.
  • God still uses man to lead in His name.
  • He still is pulling us up and out.  (Taken from Hosea 11: 12-12: 14)

God still uses prophets today to talk with us, as they release God’s words.  They are God’s messengers.  However, we don’t need anyone else to hear the voice of God for us, but we do need to hear the voice of the one who said, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well-pleased.”  (2 Peter 1: 17)

Peter goes on to say, “We ourselves heard this voice that comes from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred mountain.  And we have heard the words of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”  (2 Peter 1: 18-19)

  • Prophecy spoken allows the Morning Star to rise in our hearts.

Prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke  from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”  (2 Peter 1: 21)

  • True prophets rely on the Holy Spirit, bear His words and His heart.
  • True prophets seek to glorify God and not themselves.
  • True prophets want the will of God to be implemented, not the will of man.

Prophetic words will be backed up by scripture, as the Holy Spirit carries these words along and releases them.  Prophets speak with Him, so they can speak for Him.

God is always actively speaking.  Talk with Him.  He wants to show us things and encourage our hearts.  Be an active listener and let Him speak by the means He chooses to speak through.  His written word will confirm.  His heart will be revealed and His will shall be accomplished.  It’s all about Him!

(Shared from Hosea 11: 12: 14, Modified)

Jesus chose not to speak on one occasion.  When was that?  When He was handed over to Pilate before His crucifixion.  “The chief priests accused Him of many things.  So again Pilate asked Him, “Aren’t you going to answer?  See how many things they are accusing you of.”  (Mark 15: 4)

  • Jesus makes no defense; so He became our defender.
  • He became our defender, by His actions, not His words.

What we speak, should line up with our actions.  Actions do speak louder than words.  If you have questions about another individual, let their actions speak!
