Stand Firm In Him

He’s a good, good father whom we can trust.

Posted on

Everything God establishes is secure!  Then why do we doubt?  We are secure as His children.  He is armed with strength.  He is our strength.  He’s a good, good father whom we can trust.

The entire world was fully created by His spoken word. Whatever He speaks forth it is done!   “The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved.”  (Psalm 93: 1b)

  • If we are firmly established in Him, we will not be moved.

Our God is not only strong, He is mighty.  How mighty?  “Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea–the Lord on High is mighty.  (Psalm 93: 4)

Stand Firm In His Love

John is exhorting his readers to stand firm in His love and continue in His teaching.  The Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit, all three in one, will be seen through you.

  • Learn to stand firm in His love and in His truth.

This truth “Which lives in us will be with us forever.”  (2 John 1: 2)  Forever is a firm place to stand upon.  (Shared from 2 John 1, Modified)

Stand Firm In His Assignments

The governor of Persia and their associates questioned the men who were rebuilding the temple asking, “Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and restore this structure.”  (Ezra 5: 4)

“But the eye of their God was watching over the elders of the Jews and they were not stopped until a report could go to Darius for a decision.”  (Ezra 5: 5)

  • What God has ordained, no man can stop.
  • The eye of God is watching.

How did the builders answer the officials who were questioning their authority?  They said, “We are servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, one that a great king of Israel built and finished.”  (Ezra 5: 11)

Did you notice how the builders answered?

  • Servants of God walk in authority and humility.

King Darius reached his decision and issued a decree.  “Let the temple be rebuilt…”(Ezra 6: 3)

  • Whatever decree the king issues, it will stand firm.
