Slander

Just keep bearing good fruit.

Posted on

I saw that a sister in Christ was being slandered. This infuriated me because I know all too well how this feels.

I know her.

I know her heart.

I know her motives.

I know her life.

I know her fruit.

But after a long conversation with Holy Spirit, I walked away with wisdom.

I pray this is a blessing to those who need to hear it….

Let ‘em talk beloved.

Let ‘em gossip, lie, slander, and spread half-truths.

Let’ em.

They’re doing you a favor.

No really, it’s true.

These aren’t my words.

This is God’s word, so please keep reading.

There are 6 things that God hates.

Seven that are DETESTABLE to Him….

Proverbs 6:16-19

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

So let’ em talk.

God won’t allow His Word to go offended long.

Let’ em talk.

They’re elevating you in the spirit.

Each time they gossip, lie, slander, devise wicked plans against you, and try to create conflict in the body of Christ – Jesus simply counteracts it with elevation.

Genesis 50:20

20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.

It was a promise in the beginning, and it’s His promise now.

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Trust me – they don’t know what they’re doing in The Spirit because if they understood they would surely remain silent.

Don’t retaliate.

Don’t fight fire with fire.

Don’t return evil, for evil.

Don’t allow their sin to cause you to sin.

What they’re doing is so much bigger than you. They’re partaking in things that God hates.

He calls it DETESTABLE.

This should scare them, but this kind has no fear of The Lord.

Here’s what you do…lean into this beloved.

This is key.

Just keep bearing good fruit.

1 Peter 3:16

and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

Love more.

Be kinder.

Keep serving.

Maintain a gentle spirit.

Continue sharing the gospel.

Actually…share it more.

The enemy really hates that.

God will handle them.

Proverbs 30:10

Do not slander a slave to his master, Or he will curse you and you will be found guilty.

Remain silent.

Jesus remained silent.

Matthew 27:14

And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so the governor was quite amazed.

I know that’s the hard part.

But here’s some more truth…

Those who know you, won’t believe it.

Those who don’t know you – but are truly walking in The Spirit – they won’t believe it because they don’t tolerate gossip, slander, and a divisive tongue. They will discern the spirit.

Those who choose to believe it, want to believe it…even if they know it’s not true.

Those who choose to be complicit by staying seated at unholy tables will wind up eating of its fruit.

So remain silent.

Yes, I know they try to pass themselves off as Christ followers but Jesus didn’t say you will know them by their…

Or their following

He said….

Matthew 7:15–20

Even so every good tree brings forth good fruits; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.

At the end of the day, it’s not about being known by your Facebook friends, your church community, or your neighbors.

It’s about being known by Christ.

And know them, He shall.

But He also knows you.

And we shall all eat of the fruit we have produced.

Be it good fruit, or rotten fruit.

That my brothers and sisters is called…

“The Law Of The Seed”

It can’t be avoided.

It won’t be forgotten.

It’s a spiritual law that God put in place.

And all of creation testifies to this Truth.

So let them promote you.

Let every curse spoken against you, come forth as a blessing.

Deuteronomy 23:5

Nevertheless, the Lord your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you.

Stay kind.

Stay true.

Stay humble.

1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.

And…

Luke 6:28

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

God knows beloved.

He knows the hearts of the wicked, and He knows the hearts of those who walk in His righteousness.

Proverbs 21:2

Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.

Psalm 44:21

Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

1 Kings 8:39

then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men.

So go in peace, and let The Lord do the rest.

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

You can choose to fight your battles, or you can submit your battles to The Lord.

Choose wisely beloved.

Choose wisely.
