Last year I lead a women’s Bible Study for my community.
It was called No Empty Words, and it focused on our identity in Christ as women.
As I was preparing to lead this series I read through the leader guide.
One of the things the guide suggested was that you start off each meeting with a great opening question. Questions that really allow people to get to know each other on a deeper level and open lines of communication for intimacy.
One of the questions was, “If you could shout from a mountain top one thing you wish could be different in our world what would it be?”
Great question, right!?
So, I decided I would ask a few women in my local exercise class that I teach this question. To kind of test it… see the response and I too had to have a response.
One lady said that she would shout that she wanted no more hate in the world.
She was seeking love.
Another lady said she would shout that she wanted no more political battles between parties.
She was seeking truth.
I simply said, “I would shout that I wanted women to help other women. Not contribute to tearing them down.”
I am constantly seeking loyalty.
So today I ask you, What would you shout?
What is your heart cry?
What do you want to yell from the mountain top for the world to hear?
As you think about this please remember:
There is no hurt, or cry, or tear, or story that you could shout that is too big for Jesus.
He wants you to shout it from the mountain.
But… He wants you to leave it there for Him to deal with.
There simply is no sin that the blood of Jesus Christ has not covered.
We can run up a mountain every day and yell and scream and stamp our feet at the injustice of our world.
But when we retreat… God expects us to trust Him.
For He alone holds the world in the palm of His hand.
Besides they are all really His mountains anyway. This is why He hung on the cross.
He took the weight of all the hate, all the lies, and all the lack of loyalty and honor upon Himself.
So leave it there and walk down in grace.
Trust me, our God is big enough.
The Glorious King
David’s poetic praise to God
God claims the world as his.
Everything and everyone belongs to Him!
He’s the one who pushed back oceans
to let the dry ground appear,
planting firm foundations for the earth.
Who, then, ascends into the presence of the Lord?
And who has the privilege of entering into God’s Holy Place?
Those who are clean—whose works and ways are pure,
whose hearts are true and sealed by the truth,
those who never deceive, whose words are sure.
They will receive the Lord’s blessing
and righteousness given by the Savior-God.
They will stand before God,
for they seek the pleasure of God’s face, the God of Jacob.
Pause in His presence
So wake up, you living gateways!
Lift up your heads, you ageless doors of destiny!
Welcome the King of Glory,
for he is about to come through you.
You ask, “Who is this Glory-King?”
The Lord, armed and ready for battle,
the Mighty One, invincible in every way!
So wake up, you living gateways, and rejoice!
Fling wide, you ageless doors of destiny!
Here he comes; the King of Glory is ready to come in.
You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?”
He is the Lord of Victory, armed and ready for battle,
the Mighty One, the invincible commander of heaven’s hosts!
—Psalm 24 The Passion Translation
