So often, we walk out our faith as if constantly reacting to the enemy – warring and beating back the darkness, striving to hold our ground.
It’s exhausting, and this is not the victorious life we are called to live.
We must shift our focus.
Instead of living in REACTION to the enemy, we must live in RESPONSE to the Father.
The Word tells us, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Our power is not found in striving against darkness but in walking in The Light.
John 1:5 – “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Ephesians 5:8 – “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”
When we respond in joy, love, peace, humility, patience, goodness, kindness, and self-control, the enemy has no choice but to flee. These are the fruits of the Spirit that mark the life of a believer (Galatians 5:22-23).
When we choose to walk in God’s promises, darkness cannot remain.
God has already equipped us with everything we need for victory. The full armor of God that we are called to put on consists of the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17).
This armor is not just for battle but for standing firm in who He is and what He has done.
It’s Him.
We are called to walk in Christ Jesus daily, clothed in His righteousness and empowered by His Spirit.
Jesus instructed us to be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16).
Our strength comes from being grounded in truth while walking in gentleness and humility.
We pray continuously, believing the Father’s promises (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
We praise and worship Him, not because we are striving but because He wars on our behalf. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)
I don’t have to war.
I simply worship.
I praise the One who goes before me, the One who fights for me, and the One who has already won.
Let our lives be a response to His goodness, not a reaction to the enemy’s schemes.
Let’s live from a place of victory, resting in His power and walking in His peace.
In Jesus’ Name.
