Reminded

My feelings shouldn’t be my compass.

Posted on

I was stressed, depressed, unhappy, burdened, and getting bitter. My attitude was horrific.
Not for a day.
For the past several weeks.
If I’m being honest, my FB platform was sucking me dry.

The gossip.
The slander.
The division.
The arguing.
The infighting.
The religious spirit.
Everything being preached, that makes zero difference in someone’s salvation.

And life.
Life wasn’t helping.
Everyday life.
I wanted to scream.
I did scream.
I screamed.
I yelled.
I cried.
I got snippy with folks.

But my platform shouldn’t move me.
This world shouldn’t move me.
My feelings shouldn’t be my compass.
But it did.
It was.
And I was getting shaken.
Not because of what the world was doing, but because I was out of alignment with God.

I forgot who I was for a minute.
Many minutes.
But then I remembered.
Better yet, then He reminded me.

I’m a glory carrier.
A peacemaker.
A gospel spreader.
A conduit of joy.
A member of the royal Priesthood.

Thank you Jesus for reminding me of who I am, and who I belong to.
I’m grateful for the past few weeks of tears.
I’m grateful He allowed me to walk through my bad attitude, my frustration, and my fears.
I’m grateful because God uses it to humble me.
To remind me of my need of Him.
I am grateful that He wastes nothing.

Jesus uses these moments to remind me to give GRACE to others abundantly, as it has been heaped upon me.
And I needed it poured out like a flood the past few weeks.
HE’S SO FAITHFUL.
HE NEVER FAILS.
HIS MERCY IS NEW EVERY MORNING.
And I praise Him!
