One of my many crazy good God stories….
I needed a wall charger for the speaker in the office. There’s a Family Dollar a few blocks down from my office. This Family Dollar is always pretty sketchy, but it was freezing outside and it’s close so I went anyway.
I walked into what felt otherworldly – and not in a good way. The atmosphere was HEAVY.
A man made a lewd comment as soon as I walked in the door.
The people on either side of both aisles were dropping F-bombs like it was their job.
Two people at the register were having a disagreement about something.
When I went up to the register to pay the music playing was so vile there really aren’t even words.
It was a demon-infested playground.
SO OUT LOUD – I started binding and rebuking every demon coming at me in the place.
I wasn’t going to just “tuck tail” and take it.
No, no, no I’m not subject to demons.
In Jesus’ name – EVERYONE shut up.
Maybe from shock.
Definitely because of the Lord.
They turned off the music and the cursing stopped.
The man with the lewd comments started to say something so I looked at him and said “In JESUS NAME you will stop now!”
And he did.
An hour later I left my office to run another errand. I decided to stop at this random thrift store on the corner. As soon as I walked in I heard the owner praying healing for someone over the phone so I chimed in…
I STAND IN AGREEMENT – IN JESUS NAME!
Then she had me join in on the prayer.
When she hung up we started talking, praying, and praising.
We shared our favorite Bible verses.
We encouraged each other in the Lord.
We hugged and exchanged numbers.
This was 2 blocks from that Family Dollar.
Let me tell you…
THERE IS POWER IN YOUR TONGUE!
Don’t be silent in front of demons. You command them to STAND DOWN.
And when you encounter Holy Spirit, you STAND IN AGREEMENT.
Today was a beautiful day of walking out scripture.
Ephesians 6:13-14
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand STAND!
