CONVERSATIONS THAT INSPIRE YOU TO LOVE WELL

Episode 13

Would the real Jesus please stand up? Most of us, at some point in our lives, have been fed a version of Jesus that turned us away from Christianity. In this episode, we demystify and uncover the real Jesus – the one that we can’t help but love.

My guest today is Jami Amerine, an author, speaker, and popular blogger at Sacred Ground, Sticky Floors. She was born to a Mormon mother and non-religious father and spent her growing up years moving around the country, struggling to make friends and fit in. All the while, she strove to please a Jesus who was far from real … a pattern that continued into her adult life. She is married to Justin, and mother to Maggie, John, Luke, Sophie, Sam, and Charlie.

Jami and I talk about true grace and why it’s important that we understand the new covenant in order to really get who Jesus is. This isn’t your fluffy church-y conversation. Oh, and you don’t want to miss why Jami has so many different names for Jesus – Target Jesus, Mormon Jesus, High School Jesus, Americanized Jesus and … the title of her new book, Stolen Jesus.

If at this time of the year you would rather celebrate Christmas trees and hot chocolate rather than Jesus – we get it. I hope this episode makes you fall in love with Jesus in a way you’ve never been before.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN

  • Why Jamie wrote a book called Stolen Jesus (and how she really did do that)
  • Why grace is so misunderstood
  • The truth about who Jesus is and why it’s so dang important
  • How Jami found freedom to not have quiet time at 5 am and you can too
