If you are waiting for the perfect moment to step up and build what God has put in your heart, you will be waiting forever. Nehemiah did not show up in Jerusalem and find a welcoming committee or a clear path. What he found was chaos, broken walls, and a group of doubters who thought he was wasting his time. But Nehemiah did more than waste energy arguing with the critics or getting stuck in fear. He stood up, told the people what God had already done, and then challenged them with these words:
“The God of heaven will give us success. We, His servants, will get up and build.”
Nehemiah 2:20
If you are serious about following Jesus, expect pushback. Expect misunderstandings. Expect moments where quitting would be easier than pressing on. The enemy always tries to shut down what he’s afraid of. But here is the truth: God’s favor does not bow to human resistance. When God puts His hand on your life, you have everything you need to do what He’s called you to do, even if no one else sees it yet.
Beloved, do not wait for permission from your critics or applause from the crowd. If you know God has called you, rise up anyway. Put your hands to the work, fix your eyes on Jesus, and don’t stop until the wall is finished. The breakthrough is not coming from people; it’s coming from the God of heaven.
There will always be opposition, but God’s favor is greater.
Now, get up and build, even if your voice shakes. God will do what only He can do through those who refuse to back down.
