Billy sat in the back of his mom’s car.
“What did you learn today?” she asked.
Billy sat there ignoring her.
“Billy?” she asked.
Billy woke up from his daydream. “Uh, yeah?” he started.
“Billy, what did you do in church?”
He thought for a long moment. During the reading, he was daydreaming as well! And then during the activity, he was talking to James, a boy who sat next to him during class.
His Mom called him out of class during the final review so they could go to the baptism upstairs. So Billy had really no idea of what he had learned.
“Well you see…um…I don’t really remember…” he stuttered.
“Billy Ace Margreto!” his mother yelled. “You pay attention to your screen for hours, but you can’t pay attention to 20 minutes of church!? God says, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ Sweetheart, you need God. So please try to listen a little better.”
“Okay,” Billy said.

We all need God. He is always with us. We can learn more about him in church, when we read our Bibles, or from wise teachers. For most of us, the secret is learning to tune in!
