Be Strong In the Lord

It is the power of His written and spoken Word that releases us.

What does being strong in the Lord look like?

There is a place in God that He wants to bring us to.  It’s a place of strength, a place of safety, and shelter that releases His power and might in us.

Let’s face it!  We cannot stand strong in ourselves when the battle is raging.  We have to learn to live strong and put on His armor daily.

Most of us are very familiar with the armor of God’s teaching.  As I re-familiarized myself with this word in Ephesians, I saw some things that I’d like to share.  Let’s look at it:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in His mighty power.”  Ephesians 6:10

  • If we are strong in Him, the weapons formed against us will not succeed.

If those weapons are coming in the form of accusations here’s your promise:  “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from Me,” says the LORD.”  Isaiah 54: 17, AMP

  • To be vindicated is to clear someone of blame or suspicion.

God’s role as Vindicator is to absolve and resolve.

  • To absolve is to declare free from blame, guilt, or responsibility.

This is not a new role for Jesus; He proclaimed us free and not guilty when He died on the cross.  He pardoned us from all sin.

  • To resolve is to settle or find a solution.

That’s why it’s important to work towards a resolution to settle matters quickly.

When we are made strong in the Lord, we triumph over opposition.  Peace, righteousness, and security are what we inherit to be able to overcome the battle we are in.

Every test we encounter produces spiritual longevity.

We need this for the long haul, saints of God.  Jesus Himself was tested.  We ask, “How could that be possible He’s God?”

Well, in His love for us He stripped Himself of divinity to become a man, like one of us to now become a model for us.

Remember, Jesus went into the wilderness “filled with the Holy Spirit,” and returned “in the power of the Spirit.”   (Luke 4: 1, 14)

It is the power of the Holy Spirit that will set us free.  It is the power of His written and spoken Word that releases us.

Jesus was tested in the power of the Word of God.  Every test, and accusation thrown at Him, He was strengthened by declaring, “It is written.”

As we grow in becoming like Him, we grow strong in His might.  Our weapons are spiritual as we learn to pull down those strongholds.  For it is written, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10: 4

Spiritual arsenal is powerful.  God has given us tools to utilize and bring forth strength in the battle.

It is our responsibility to use these tools so we can stand in victory.

Keep His Word in your heart. He will not fail you.
