Caught in an environment filled with hate and violence, we ponder.
In the face of slanderers, despisers, haters, and more, we wander.
As pilgrims, we work out our salvation in this world, but not of it.
Pursuing peace with the self-absorbed, and haughty, we consider.
To love as Christ or get caught up in spirit of the culture we explore.
Like Jesus, wise as serpents, harmless as doves, we engage.
To be wise and speak, or harmless and quiet, we gage.
More concerned for the lost than the argument, we speak softly.
Going forth in Christ’s love, giving ourselves to humility, we die.
Making every effort to be peaceable, refusing to quarrel, we vie.
Understanding the entrapments of Satan, we forgive behaviors.
With understanding and love, we speak in the presence of haters.
With hearts set on the power of His Spirit to transform, we speak.
In humility, correcting those in opposition, we speak with courage.
Pursuing peace in all relationships, we speak to encourage.
