Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Psalm 34:11
It’s not just sin.
It’s not just evil.
It’s not.
Do we fear the Lord when we cause division?
Do we fear the Lord when we have anger in our hearts?
Do we fear the Lord when we are puffed up in our own righteousness?
Do we fear the Lord when we harbor resentment or bitterness?
Do we fear the Lord when we don’t display LOVE toward those we may disagree with?
Do we truly fear the Lord?
We say all the right “things.”
“The only goodness in me is Christ!”
Yet, then we mock and point at those who aren’t where we may be in our walk.
The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility. Proverbs 15:33
Do we fear the Lord when we are pointing at other’s sins while overlooking our own?
Do we?
Do I?
I need more FEAR OF THE LORD.
Not so I can cower from Him.
But so that I am inspired to LOVE OTHERS better, more fully, and with a clean heart.
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord And discover the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:5
If we are going to fear the Lord, let us fear Him in Spirit and Truth.
Pride is just as detestable to the Lord as sin.
A lack of LOVE is just as detestable to the Lord as sin.
Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Let me fear You Lord in every area where I lack LOVE.
Purify my heart, Lord.
Purify me!
