Here we are exploring the third question before we get to the last one. That third question was:
Are we desiring to see folks understand the love of Jesus and His plan and purpose for their lives?
When we desire something, we have a strong feeling of wanting something to happen. Or we can aspire, and direct our hopes or ambitions toward achieving something.
Folks, achievement is not bad if Godly directed.
Here’s what the prophet Isaiah said about achievement:
“…My word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55: 11
God’s Word has the power to do what your heart’s desire is and to achieve it.
So, that’s why it’s important to get the Word of the Lord on your desire. How can we do that?
Position yourself to read His Word, pray, and seek counsel if needed.
If it’s God’s Word and God’s desire, your promise given will not turn up empty.
Here’s what He says about that: “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46: 10-11
God sees the beginning, the end, and everything in the middle.
If your desire is to evangelize and let as many people as possible understand the love of Jesus and His purpose for their lives, you are aligning with what His desire is.
The main purpose for Jesus coming was found in this very familiar promise: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3: 16
The planning and your strategy HOW to release it will come from the Lord, as you seek His direction. Let the Holy Spirit lead and guide your aspirations.
There has been an invitation going out to those who are thirsty saying, “Come.”
Here’s how you go out:
“Go out in joy and be led forth in peace…” Isaiah 55: 12a
What happens when you go?
Here’s a beautiful metaphor:
“…The mountains and the hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55: 12 Nature is called on to join you in praise.
Your obedience in going out will reverse the desolation that people have experienced.
Desolation is defined as,
- A state of complete emptiness or destruction.
- Anguished misery or loneliness.
“Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.” Isaiah 55: 13a
Living a life as a thornbush or brier is living a life in desolation, emptiness, and misery. You, as a Christ-follower, can bring them an alternative, instead of living in destruction.
I see this formula the Lord has given us.
That formula is: Instead of=alternative.
That alternative lifestyle is living with purpose and pure love, by living a life with Jesus.
The world has twisted and deceived His Truth.
Brothers and sisters, this is the only alternative that will change the world, nothing else!
“This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed.” Isaiah 55: 13b
The Lord’s renown is His fame and His name.
Moses was God’s servant who led those in captivity out:
“Where is he who set His Holy Spirit among them, who sent His glorious arm of power to be at Moses’ right hand, who divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown, who led them through the depths? They were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord.” Isaiah 63: 11-14.
“This is HOW you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.”
God still desires to make His name great; not because He needs encouragement but He is due all honor and glory as our King, our Savior, and our Lord.
God’s leading and guiding is still carried out through His servants, through the depths of His love and the power of His Holy Spirit.
Keep ascending and bringing others with you. God has new heights and depths for us to discover.
