If you’re my friend, and I call you my sister or brother in the Lord know this….
I will never sit at tables with people who slander you. Slander and gossip are deal-breakers for me.
For three reasons….
1. Because if I love you, I love you.
2. Because I love the Lord. Slander, gossip, and a divisive tongue are three of the things God hates.
3. Because it’s happened to me a million times during my walk with the Lord.
It’s never lost on me who stays seated at the table of my enemies, and yet they remain on my page. These aren’t your friends beloved. They’re spectators. They’re the spiritual equivalent of those who sat as spectators in the Roman Colosseum watching humans being eaten alive by lions. If you can stomach it, you enjoy the sport. Period.
I can’t stomach it, and I won’t allow it in my ears or read with my eyes.
So know this….
If someone makes the mistake of slandering you or gossiping about you in my presence – they will be corrected for their ungodly behavior. If they do it again, I will correct them again and then remove myself. That’s biblical.
People who engage in slandering others are being led by demons—not the Spirit of God. I have no room for that in my life. I’m not entertained by demons. This behavior is revolting. He who sides with the accuser of the brethren is not walking with God.
I see it happening constantly by people claiming Christ.
They love the drama.
They love the tabloids.
They love the screenshots.
They love the gossip.
They love putting people on blast.
They love to attack other denominations.
They love to pull up in someone else’s DM’s.
They love it.
And then they call it CHRIST.
This is the working of an unrenewed mind. They have a “gang mentality” and that’s not of the Lord. Slander is an attempt to posture over an individual. This has to do with pride, envy, comparison, jealousy, or a religious spirit.
– It’s what caused Cain to kill his brother.
– It’s what Lucifer did to deceive a third of the angels.
– It’s what drove Joseph’s brothers to sell him into slavery.
– It’s also what drove the Pharisees to persecute JESUS and eventually have HIM crucified.
This is why THE FATHER hates gossip because it is driven by pride, jealousy, comparison, envy, and manmade religion which always turns into hate.
If one says they love GOD and hates his brother/sister then they’re a liar.
CRITICAL QUESTIONS
Ask yourself this…..
Did they pray for the person?
Did they go to them privately?
Did they bring one other person, if the original private conversation wasn’t received?
Did they fast for them?
Did they travail for them?
Do they tremble in fear knowing they will be held to account if they’re wrong?
Are they walking in their flesh or the spirit?
Are they speaking from how they FEEL or from what THE WORD OF GOD SAYS?
Is this a salvation issue?
Or nah – a Facebook post blasting this person on secondary issues will do.
Or nah – causing offense is no big deal.
Or nah – it doesn’t matter how it looks to the non-believer or those new in the faith.
Check the tree.
Inspect the fruit.
It’s often pretty obvious.
Keep your eyes open Saints. The Lord is in a revealing season. His name will not continue to go long offended, and He will defend you when yours is.
And if I wasn’t clear….
I don’t have to agree with everything another brother or sister in the Lord believes so long as it’s not a salvation issue. Don’t ever show up in my DM’s speaking ill of them. And if you continue to post nasty things about other denominations I will gladly remove myself from your page.
The behavior some people have the audacity to call Godly is abominable.
We will answer for EVERY idle word and every hateful action we commit against one another.
Every • Single • Thing
If only people could see how this looks in the spirit. I wish people actually cared about grieving Holy Spirit. How we treat others in the body of Christ is critical. Yet so often ignored.
I’m not from the school of “they didn’t do it to me.” If they did it to you, then they did it to me, and they did it to Christ.
THAT’S THE BIBLE.
And we wonder why people don’t believe….
John 17:21
that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
