How do we know for sure that our service to the Lord will produce fruit that endures? Stepping out and serving God in whatever way He desires, we can gain a confidence that will prove to be unshakable.
Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
There is a key for this to happen found in the Word. Here it is:
“Beloved ones, stand firm and secure. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.” 1 Corinthians 15: 58
What makes us productive?
It’s our union with the Lord that makes us productive. When we are united with God, wanting His plan and His purpose, above all else, He releases it. He releases fruitful labor that will remain till harvest time.
There are different ways of producing. Here’s what I mean:
- We can just produce with hardly any effort, but not endure.
- We can just serve, but not in love.
- We can just show up, but not fully engage.
- We can fulfill an obligation, but not commit from our heart.
What’s the point in doing just that? What makes the difference in our service so it’s not just a duty? The Holy Spirit and His fruit.
The difference-maker is this: How strong is our union with God?
When we give ourselves fully to the Lord we are to be investing in the lives of others.
This comes naturally as the Holy Spirit produces through us. It’s not something we must muster up!
KINGDOM KEY: If we seek a reward, we won’t seek Him; for Jesus is our reward.
The union of seeking Him fully will bring His abundance. When it’s time for the harvest to be gathered, the fruit that remained will bring forth more fruit. Why?
There was an investment made which guarantees a return.
So “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6: 9
FINAL KINGDOM KEY: Securing our union, serves to strengthen the communion without the need to be proven.
Cling to our God, whose promises are proven! Learn to hide in Him to be sheltered.
” Yahweh, what a perfect God you are! All Yahweh’s promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in you, the wraparound God.” Psalm 18: 30
