Ready for what, some are asking? Ready for doing good and walking along the path that God intended; even if the road seems long and it may include an uphill climb.
Paul tells Titus, “Remind the people to be subject to ruler and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, and slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate and to show true humility toward all men.” (Titus 3: 1-3)
He doesn’t stop there, but adds, “At one time, we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hurting one another, but when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.” (Titus 3: 3-5)
- Always show His mercy and kindness
What’s Excellent And Profitable For Everyone?
Here are some pointers I grabbed from the reading:
- Devote yourself to what’s good. (Titus 3: 8)
- Avoid foolish controversies. (Titus 3: 10)
- Warn divisive people. (Titus 3: 10)
Final Remarks
“People must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for necessities and not live unproductive lives.” (Titus 3: 14)
- Devoting ourselves is being loyal, faithful, committed, and dedicated.

Those Who Trust In The Lord Receive Blessing
Jeremiah is continuing to point out the sin of Judah and speaks of it. They have backslidden so badly that their sins are engraved not only on their hearts but also on their altars–to be remembered by God rather than to be atoned for.
Jeremiah continues to exhort those who love and trust God, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.” (Jeremiah 17: 7)
Here’s the received blessing: “He will be like a tree by the water that sends out its root by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17: 8)
Jesus is our Living Water and those who are planted in Him shall encounter:
- No fear when the heat comes.
- Refreshment will continually come when planted, and may I add, rooted.
Those Who Trust In The Lord Will Suffer Attack
Jeremiah’s enemies have plotted against him. They said, “Let’s make plans against Jeremiah…So come, let’s attack him with our tongues and pay no attention to anything he says.” (Jeremiah 18: 18)
- Attacks can come from many fronts.
- Tongue-lashing seems to be the most popular.
- Accusations that are false will fall to the ground.
- Let God be your defender.
- There’s a time to speak and a time to listen.

Watchman Are Posted
The Psalmist declares, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stand guard in vain.” (Psalm 127: 1)
- The Lord builds the house.
- The Lord watches over all.
Be Ready To Do What Is Good
“Make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (Luke 1: 17b)
