The Last Word

In all the turmoil and injustice that is taking place, God’s plan of redemption is present and at work.

It’s too easy for people of faith to become consumed with the affairs of culture and the unrighteous actions of those in positions of leadership. This unhealthy over-focus has caused some not to see a greater reality that is unfolding. It becomes especially frustrating when someone has done all they can to make good and godly choices and initiate a righteous course correction, yet nothing seems to change.

We can forget that throughout Scripture, the Lord has always been able to use the failings of people in positions of power to accomplish His will. Just as the Lord directed the actions of Pharaoh to align with His redemptive plan for the people of Israel, so will it be in our day. No matter how confusing or disheartening the decisions of those in a position of leadership might appear, the Lord will always have the last word.

Ask the Lord to reveal His redemptive plan. It is always present, hidden from sight by the blinding effect of our fear and despair. In all the turmoil and injustice that is taking place, God’s plan of redemption is present and at work. That revelation might not be popular with some in your current circle of fellowship or align with any existing camp of opinion. It can be easily missed if we are focused only on the evil being perpetrated and not the plan of rescue God has set in motion.

“The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord; he guides it wherever he pleases” (Proverbs 21:1).
