The separatist mentality in churches is sadly not a rare thing. This is due to the worship of self over God and control being sought. What cannot be controlled is no longer welcomed. Grooming allows the manipulator to see who can be controlled, and those relationships are sought and furthered. It is not of God, and He will not bless it. Ask God to lead you to a community that is following after Him and not focused on man.
