Do you ever feel less than because there is chaos in your life?
You hear all of this talk about “the Peace of Christ” and it leaves you wondering where you went wrong.
Then the enemy twists this lack of peace and you start to think maybe you’re not a REALLY a child of God.
After all, the enemy is the author of chaos and confusion and now you’re filled with both!
Peace in this life is not promised.
In fact, Jesus tells us…
“You will have trouble in this life”. (John 16:33)
What Jesus has promised us is this….
He has made PEACE between us, and God.
We are no longer children of darkness, rather we are now CHILDREN OF LIGHT.
He doesn’t promise you won’t get fired, that you will be successful in all that you do, or that life will be easy.
No unicorns promised.
He said…
Matthew 10:22
and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
I don’t have peace when people hate me, or slander me, or try to harm me.
Luke 6:26 says “Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.”
But it still hurts.
Ask a mother who lost a child if she has peace. Her heart will never be at peace.
Revelation 21:4 says “and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.”
But I rest in this….
Jesus has given us peace with God.
He bridged the gap.
He tore the veil.
And my SPIRIT MAN is at peace, even when my physical self is not.
Even when my heart is not.
This life is but a vapor.
The heartache, the loss, the sickness, the fear, these worldly circumstances are temporary.
Our suffering in this life has an expiration date.
In John 14:27 Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.”
It is not the peace of the world or how the world understands it.
This is called RESTING IN YOUR SALVATION and THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS.
May the Peace of Christ be with us all.
