Freedom of Speech is on the Ballot in the 2024 Election

OPINION – Censorship is rapidly expanding across the world, and it is reaching epidemic proportions. Although the United States has withstood this contagion more than most places, there is an epic battle underway right here on our soil.

Over the past several weeks, we have witnessed a Brazilian Supreme Court Justice assume the posture of a dictator by demanding the ban of X (formerly known as ‘Twitter” for Prince fans.) The primary catalyst for this ruling is a massive uprising of the populace in response to what appears to be another stolen election.

In the same period of time, we began witnessing chaos in the United Kingdom as protestors and online posters were being (and continue to be) arrested and sentenced to long prison sentences for voicing their opinions about the ever-expanding migrant invasion.

It is important to note that this all came about very quickly, with Kier Starmer assuming the role of Prime Minister in early July. He promised change and “transformation” while campaigning and then quickly began cracking down on free speech and civil liberties once in office. (Sound familiar?)

Here, in our own country, the battle for free speech and preserving our First Amendment rights continues to rage on. For several years, social media posters sharing opinions and information that do not align with the “approved narratives” have been deboosted, shadow-banned, hidden, suspended, and removed by social media and video platforms.

Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have been the largest and most aggressive censors. Conservatives (or Republicans) and Libertarians have been the key targets, along with information and truth about specific topics. For instance, anyone speaking against, warning about, or sharing hidden information related to Covid and its handling, vaccines, election fraud, or governmental malfeasance were quickly censorsed or shut down.

Recently, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) founder Mark Zuckerberg surprised many by detailing how the government has been directing them to censor specific content and suspend users. The Constitution would seem to strongly prohibit these actions, but the Supreme Court avoided addressing the matter on a technicality. On a related note, it should also be pointed out that often, the censored information later proved to be true.

So, for now, we hang in the balance with a muddled future while Orwellian censorship becomes entrenched throughout other previously “free” nations. The danger of this more fully manifesting here in the U.S. is ramped up greatly by the radically different perspectives and plans of our Presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Make no mistake: Freedom of Speech is clearly on the ballot in 2024.

President Trump is a staunch proponent of free speech, along with all personal freedoms. He founded Truth Social for this very reason. One of the primary reasons that Robert Kennedy, Jr. suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump is that they both share an urgent passion to protect and restore free speech and personal freedoms. Similarly, X’s new owner, Elon Musk, has become a huge advocate for free speech, endorsed Trump, and pledges to join the future administration.

Conversely, Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, are outspoken advocates for governmental control and censorship. They have both professed their intent to tighten the screws on speech and other personal freedoms. And it has already been the Biden-Harris regime that has been issuing the censorship mandates to the social media and tech platforms.

Depending on the outcome of the November election, we could either witness a return and restoration of free speech—or we could see something like the U.K. with an aggressive advance of a police state to censor and prosecute anyone not aligning with approved narratives.

It is absolutely critical that we vote to preserve our First Amendment rights, including freedom of speech and religion. If we lose this most pivotal right, it becomes virtually impossible to ever get it back, and tyranny quickly follows.

The following short video powerfully portrays our current state and what is at stake. Have a look:
