This chapter of Proverbs is about wisdom calling out. The chapter begins by asking, “Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? Proverbs 8: 1
Perhaps, wisdom is looking for a place to land a place to meet with mankind.
It even says that in the next couple of verses. “To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding.” Proverbs 8: 5
What can we gain from this?
Wisdom is looking to gain access to our lives.
Here’s wisdom’s plea: “Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.” Proverbs 8: 6
As the writer continues, he voices this: “Counsel and judgment are mine; I have understanding and power.” Proverbs 8: 14
These qualities characterize the Lord.
Walking with the Lord will characterize wisdom and understanding within that person.
The fruit of wisdom will be evident in one’s life. Why?
The Lord says, “My fruit is better than gold…” Proverbs 8: 19
Wisdom is called the “Tree of Life.”
If only Adam and Eve had exhibited wisdom before they picked that fruit. Surely, it is a lesson of obedience/disobedience we can all learn from.
Wisdom was one of the “first fruits” of God’s work in creation.
“For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 8: 35
Walk In Wisdom It Will Bring Favor.
